Nice vid and no surprise. This status thing will always rear its ugly head as its unavoidable when comparing cars of such vastly different price points. Z06 is a solid, bonafide supercar and did very well considering its an old geezer now. Love the GT2's and there is no comparison between the two other than performance. Would love to see a 997 GT2 vs a ZR1 and 08 Viper. That would be a bloody, knock down drag out fight.

Haven't seen too many chicks with red lipstick driving Turbo's but I have seen tons of DB's driving Z06's. Yes I owned one and went to the events so I know first hand. This is why the Vette is gone (along with the parachute pants, gold chains, pleather driving gloves etc...) and the Turbo is in the garage.

Some lame comments in this thread, very lame. The Z06 is an awesome looking and performing car. I just don't believe it's very reliable, especially if you mod it, which it needs up top. But stigmas are garbage, there are enough Z06's running circles around Porsche's and everything else for people to have more on the mind than any stigma.

I bet that stigma isn't on your mind when you see one at the track is it?

Wow, guess no one here has heard of the Porsche stigma. Drive what you want, but to trash a particular type of sports car because of a perceived stereotype is lame and implies an inferiority complex IMHO. Of course, we'll know for certain if someone responds to my comment proving the IC.

For what the cost dif is between the 2 cars the vett did pretty dam good. If ya threw another 5-10k into the vett it would have eatin the porsche for lunch. As far as reliability, I think the vet drivetrane would be much more reliable and ALOT cheaper to maintain...Those Ls engines are very stout. In the end I would still rather have the porshe if $$$ was not an issue.
