I would definitely consider EVOMS. They have consistently proven the ability to make very good power, while keeping reliability and daily-driveability in mind. Dozens of EVT-700 cars are the proof.

It has to be ohhh so close in tuner similarities...

My Porsche dealer is an EVOMS partner..so that says something too.

Whatever the reasons, reputation, quality, or corporate incentive..I'm still covered.

My vote goes for EVOMS and BBI. I have the EVOMSit tune, headers, and DV valves from EVOMS and they are great. They are a well respected reliable tuner. Their systems have held up very well over time.

I also use BBI for all installs and suspension work. If you want all out crazy power, you need to give these guys a call too. They do some incredible stuff.

The difference between the first two turbo kits and all the others mentioned is huge, totally different animals. Any of those two kits Proto or Vivid will smoke VTG kits all day long.
If you are thinking of the ultimate kit both Vivid and proto will give you some scary power.
Evolution motorsports is preparing a 4,0L kit for the 997 turbo with over 1000bhp, BUT you'll have to rebuilt your engine. I believe Protomotive might have something similar. Good luck

Do any of these big HP cars run DE's? Just curious as to how well they hold up to the rigors of road racing as opposed to straight line racing.

There are a few VTG packages using modified wheels in the GT2 housing that should keep up with Dan's kit.

Exclamation

are there any aftermarket VTGs yet? has anyone made VTG turbos that are bigger than the GT2s? I'd probably want to keep VTGs in the 997tt.. its one of the things i thought always made the car so great.
otherwise something like:EVT620
