Hey guys, im looking to buy a 997 911 Turbo. I found 2 listings in my local auto trader. I'm hoping you guys could check them out let me know which is the better buy. Also is there any downside about the Turbo? Like any faults etc. Any help and information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!

Hello, both look like nice cars, but need more info on them. Is that in canadian dollars? I just bought a 07 tt with 10,000 miles with a new msrp of 150k for 87k with cpo. Don't foget PPI is always needed. Good Luck, I learned alot from the fine folks on this forum.

I would go with #2. Mileage & price.
The dealer for #2 is right around the corner from me.
You could prob. buy from a Pfaff for about the same and get their CPO, all their goodwill, valet service etc. etc.

Honestly, i would rather pull out my eyes with a kitchen knife and donate whats left of them to charity then deal with Pfaff Porsche. With my previous 911 i had nothing but problems with my servicing needs, etc. My service rep was Jimmy. Horrible customer service.

I would go for #2 from the information you provided. I have had numerous exotics and the 997 turbo is the best car in one package IMO. You will not have any regrets purchasing a 997 turbo. I feel an exhaust is a must have with the turbo because the stock system is very muted. Either way good luck with your search and have fun with it, when the right car pops up you will know. No matter which you choose get a PPI and get the DME checked as well. Let us know what happens.....

Thanks for all the info! Everyone is telling me to get the 997 TT, and that i will love it. So that is the direction i am going to go towards. In your opinion what is the best aftermarket exhaust? I don't like silly loud, but something with a nice deep roar to it. My cousin has the Tubi setup on his C2S, but i don't really think that sounds very good. What is PPI, DME? Sorry for the newb questions. Appreciate all the help!

Exhaust is so subjective. Depends on how aggressive you want it and how much you're willing to pay

PPI: Pre-purchase inspection
DME: Digital Motor Electronics: microprocessor that controls ignition, fuel injection, O2 sensors, etc and also logs/monitors engine revs, temp, intake airflow, exhaust gas composition, blah, blah. Essential to get a DME readout from a PPI.

I like my Switzer exhaust, its not loud, no drone, nice rumble, no restriction, looks good and reasonable. I'm in Etobicoke if you want to hear it.
