New TT vs M6
I've had my 2009 TT cab for two months now. Coming off an M6 cab. Both six speeds. As great as the M6 was, the TT has it beat in almost every way, including looks in my opinion. I'd have to argue there's more soul in the TT. The only place the M6 wins hands down with a knockout is the sound of its engine/exhaust, especially at WOT with its high redline. I've had an M3, M5 and M6, all great cars, but stepping into the TT is just stepping into a different league. Now just have to wait until the end of next week to get my Tubi Street on, and maybe the TT wil get a bit closer on the sound side...
911 turbo is a lot more expensive (even more so used, due to BMW's horrible depreciation), so I don't think you can directly compare the two cars. For the price of a TT, you can actually get a 5.7L 630hp Dinan stroker M6, which would be an awesome GT machine and very comfortable for long drives.
I own M5 smg and 997 C2s 6speed , i love both of them in every way . M5 wins in the comfort zone for long drives , but 997 thrill is totally diffrenet. Its like having a blonde (c2s)for the weekend and a brunette (m5)for everyday use. This coming summer the blonde will be replaced with a super blonde(997TT 6speed)
Weren't they supposed to do something about your taxes this year? My cousin (she lives in Swe) mentioned something about that last time I saw her...
Oh, and I also had an M5 prior to my 997TT. I won't go into the narrative part of it but all of the empirical evidence shows that people graduate from the M5/6 to 997tt, not so much the other way around!

yep, I kindly ask to pass your comment directly to our beloved government. And yes, it hurts every time to even think about it...

P.S when was the last time your dealership handed over the keys to a TURBO and was like here take it, like it doesn't cost 150,000 grand......this guy is a loser..... i would spend the extra money for a turbo any day over the m6....smhhh
i saw this on another forum. I respectfully disagree.

While the Turbo will have greater feedback, you still cannot duplicate RWD handling feel with AWD, PERIOD.
You also have to give credit to the fact that
#1 New cars have not settled yet and will not feel the same as ones with some miles on them.
#2 Once you get used to a car, getting into another one (especially a new one), can unsettle your comfort zone.
A Cab Turbo is not exactly the definition in road feel and feedback precision.
Not many I know in a 997tt "wished" they had a M5 or 6....
as for the sound can some after market cans ....
