997TT experts! I need help!!!
I need someone who can either test-drive or visually inspect one of 997 turbos in Florida for me.

Buying a 911 Turbo is a very large purchase . If you were buying a new car from a dealership .. that's very different than a used car .

I have rarely seen a 911 Turbo that looks bad because the independent lots are brilliant at making them look pretty.
The authorized dealerships rarely even keep the cars unless they are in decent shape but of course the prices are higher.

Private sellers usually ONLY want to deal with the buyer or a shop. Most individual owners don't open their cars up for tire kickers to give opinions to someone who may or may not buy a car .

One last point -- and its VERY important --
Two months or so ago there was a very bad rain storm that flooded out a lot of cars . No matter how beautiful a car looks ,,, a carfax won't show it.. a DME won't either .. but water damage can be very serious . This is the old news footage http://www.wsvn.com/news/articles/local/MI139177/

I would be hesitant to buy ANY used car in this region for that reason .

 

The Miami area may have had some flooding but the west coast of FL did not experience it. To say you shouldn't buy a car from FL is REALLY OVERSTATING THE SITUATION.

If I was trying to sell my car and someone asked me to submit it to their agent for verification of condition, I would happily do so...unless I was trying to hide something.

Just be careful, and do your homework so you dont buy someone elses problems.

 

The news story only referred to Miami and Ft Lauderdale. Florida is a large state and of course NOT every car faced the rain. I hope this clarrification helps.

 

Madporsche85, I will be happy to help as well, however Tom and Justin from rennsport-one's offer is great. They have done work on my turbo as well as many others and would sure would give you a perfect recommendation. They could also mod it before the trip home?
