as an alternative this one took me about 5 minutes to install and I did not have to mess with deconstructing the Sport Adaptive seats:

I did mine yesterday and just wanted to say thanks for the installation notes, couldn't have done it without them.

Getting you hand up there to hold the plates in place and push the bolts through the holes is very difficult indeed, the top two especially. I ended up putting the bolt in a long thin gripper and slid it in place.

Also you will need nuts and bolts, I initially thought that I might have been able to use speed nuts on the bracket and tighten the bolts with a rachet ring spanner. I couldn't do this, so had to revert to nuts and bolts.

I love this set up. Used for 2 seasons. Just be warned. It does not move with the seats since it is bolted to the floor panel. So if a shorter driver moves the seat forward you could potentially damage the seats or bracket. Again. I love mine, but something I watch out for.

It is better to let it burn and get the insurance payoff then have to deal with a fire damaged car afterwards.

I think it's a must on a Porsche due to the front fuel tank placement, and what happened to Paul Walker recently

Interesting point, but I think the main reason for the fire extinguisher for track events is for the saftey of the human component of the car. As in you are stuck in a burning car and need to do what you can to reduce the fire until help arrives. Especially after recent events I would not track without one.

True, but it is a must in that type of cars in my opinion...

In regards to the Speedtactics, how much forward movement do you lose on a power seat in a 997.2tt with the FEx in the bracket. Does it make a difference whether you use the 1.5 or the larger 2.5?

Mine is out for the season so can't test it for you, but i'm 6'3" and have had guys in the range of 5'8" drive (and move the seat up) with limited issues. There are many adjustments you can make - as to exactly where the FE is positioned in the bracket...so in general - you won't have any issues unless one of your kids gets in and jams the seat all the way forward.
