There was a forum member who sold brackets that could be screwed into the tow hook, I forgot his username.

Try the search it should come up. I ordered one, works and holds up well. Tested up to 160mph on track with no issues.

I have given this some thought and I wonder if this may work in court. All cars sold here in the US must conform to federal and state laws. So, how can a car be brought into California (in this case) and sold to a consumer without meeting the state law requirement for a front license plate. No mounting holes, no hardware, no mounting bracket, nothing. So why should this fall upon the consumer to buy hardware, mounting bracket or whatever and spend more $$$ to conform to state law and the fine? Does that mean a car dealer could sell a 49 state smog legal car in CA, then have the law fine and charge the consumer to bring it CA emission standards for not having a CA smog legal car. I do not think so. My rant is over. I feel better now.

I got my hardware from dealer - it attaches to tow hook which avoids drilling. Some guys use double sided tape to attach plate. As you know, they love to write tickets in ca.

Call RPM-North, speak to Craig. They have brackets. Personally, I don't run a front plate in NYC and I get a ticket once every 6 months (maybe less)... And I drive the car everywhere. For me it's just easier to pay the ticket every once in a while...sort of the price you pay for running no plate. lol. If you want to beat the ticket just velcro the plate with a frame to the bumper. Take a picture and send it in. Worked for my other car. -Showking

Skene makes excellent bracket that drills into underside of bumper and cant be seen...look at Conscums post/pics...Skene now sells extra short version for 997 cars...I have one but havent installed since I dont use my car for DD anymore....this is a good option for people who dont want off-centered look from using towhook plate holder....btw, I have brand new towhook plate holder and extra short Skene holder for sale ...send PM if interested.
