Question Door sill options for a Turbo S

I recently placed 10% deposit with my dealer for my ice blue metallic Turbo S with the blue/black interior. I now have a Comm# and an estimated build date of early June with a target delivery date in Oz of late August, early September. It's been a long wait but it will have been worth it considering I placed a smaller deposit for this car 2 years ago.

Anyway, the reason for the thread is that I spoke to the dealer a few days later regarding the outer door sill options. I prefer the look of the carbon sills over the standard Turbo S sills. I was hoping to add the illuminated carbon sills to the order but when he checked with PCA they told him that it would delay the build by 3 months

As I'm not prepared to delay the build I will stick with the standard Turbo S sills. Has anyone on the forum ever chosen the XES option "Preparation outer door sills guards - illuminated" and then retrofitted the carbon sills when they became available? If so is it hard to do?

Love your color combo choice!
I chose a full natural brown leather interior for my S,as an elegant way to compliment a dark blue exterior...and now you have me thinking about the blue black one

Didn't know of the "Preparation" option. Experiences that other owners I know have had in adding after delivery options has been problematic at best. I have the stainless illuminated sills and like many of the other options I got they've become sort of passe. I'd say forget it. After all the only time you'll see them is when the door is open.

El Cholo Loco is infamous around these parts
Is there a 2011 Turbo S ordering guide available? I just ordered a Turbo S Cab a few days ago but was told to reference the 2010 Turbo option guide for my order which doesn't make sense. Please let me know. Thanks!

A few weeks ago,for a few days, the "build your Porsche"option for the new Turbo and TurboS was available on the European web sites...then was quickly removed
I had my mind set on a turboS cab, so went over to my local dealer(with whom i have a very good history)to enquire about ordering one
I was told that they had one of 4(for the whole year, some dealers having none!)TurboS available for April build and end of May delivery(in my case pick-up at the factory)
So i put down a 10% deposit, and the dealer accessed an ordering guide only available to Porsche, and started going through all the options available
Whoever told you to use the 2010 turbo option guide as a reference was misinformed, because the availability of some options are EXCLUSIVE to the Turbo S,and DO NOT appear on the 2010 guide...
