Ceramic rotors

How can I distinguish ceramic rotors? Got yellow 6 pot calipers but how can I be sure if they are ceramic or not?

LOL...stop causing trouble...

If it rusts...it's not ceramic.

If you don't see ceramic fibers...it's not ceramic.

If you don't have yellow calipers...it's not ceramic.

If digits 7, 8, and 9 of the parts number stamped on the rotor don't have 031 or 032...it's not ceramic.

If your dealer isn't going to charge you $7K to replace it...it's not ceramic...wait...they will charge that for a steel rotor at some dealerships. Forget I said that.

LOL re. the hammer. I have this one I would bet even eclou the second *may* not know:

The Ceramic "hat" has a "SGL" inscription on it. Bob, your time to shine (again), who is SGL?

And one more, put a refrigerator magnet next to it, neither PCCB disc (carbon composite) or hat (aluminum) will stick.

Ceramic rotors are dark grayish, steel rotors should be bright.

SGL Group manufactures the rotors.

What is the diff between .31 & .32?

Thanks.

That's pretty good...

if a magnet sticks to the rotor...it's not ceramic.
