People with catless exhaust...

Hello guys,
I am buying a FVD exhaust with cat bypass from Rhonda as well as their software.
before i get my stuff, I would like to hear from you guys on your experiences with your catless exhaust. So that I will know what to expect.
What do you like about your catless exhaust? what do you hate about it?

Hi

I have a modified OEM catless exhaust. Excellent flow (no cats), good power (matched to FVD software as well). Sound is also "better".

I am in local to you. PM me if you want to meet up and hear my catless exhaust.

Only negative...there is more of a "smell" to the exhaust. You do not smell it when driving..only when you get home and right out of the car, you can immediately notice a "smell".

i can't speak for the 997tt but all other cars ive seen cat-less are usually pretty stinky. i'd recommend at least 100cell cats.. those aren't going to be restrictive enough to cause any horsepower loss anyway.

I have the Tubi race and love it. It actually has less low end resonance than the Tubi regular as easing off the throttle can make it very quiet but when stepped on it roars like a monster. I love everything about it but highly recommend buying carbon monoxide sensors for the home if parking in an attached garage.

This is what you can expect...FVD Catless

I have both 200 cell cats and cat bypass pipes. Both sound heavenly, although my cranky neighbor may disagree.

Thanks alot for the information guys!
The reason I am considering catless exhaust is that it's half the price of a 200 cell catted exhaust. I feel the car sounds more agreessive too with a catless exhaust from all the videos that i have watched on you tube.
I don't mind a little smell or noise; I was just worried that if a catless exhaust would cause any mechanical problems other than a cel for the 02 sensors? I will be getting the FVD flash at the same time; I guess i am covered fully?
Thanks again boys

oh man, i have watched your video about 167 times in the past week.
It sounds so good. I bet it would sound better if you drove it out of the garage.

Yeah, it's my way keeping the miles down while enjoying the sound.

At WOT it is simply awesome. No smells, no noise, no worries. Your flash will take care of any cels.

In Canada we get tested every two years for emissions...installed headers, exhaust (Fabb) and flash...but had to leave in the cats...200 cell.

Btw: Just got tested for emissions two weeks ago and after three years with the exhaust... the cats from fabbi performed perfectively!

Good to know about the cats holding up. The same holds true for CA although for new cars I believe it's six years for the first emmisions test then every other year. It's nice to have a system that you can swap in and out cats so easily.

That's good to hear! Thanks alot guys!
I think in B.C, you don't need emission test for the first 7 years on new cars. then after that every two years. I think the cats can be easily swapped in without removing the whole system on fvd systems.

David - you should do a video with the cats on so folks can compare.

Yes, you don't have to remover the muffler. It's a simple swap < 1 h.
