Quote: Greeeeat.........It would be great to see it against a ZR1 and a Gen IV Viper as well. It would be a knock down drag out fight.
Be careful what you wish for. We watched a lightly modded (only lowered) ZR-1 out at Sebring blow (and I do mean BLOW) by everything and anything. The car was really fast!

Quote: Are there tunes available for the PDK 997.2 yet?
Jamie,
Here is a little info on our .2 ECU tune. If you have any questions please let me know, thanks. Rod Z.

The EVOMSit 565 HP ECU Tune for the Porsche 997.2TT is an elite technology product that has been tested under the most grueling conditions during dyno test simulation as well as during real world driving on the street and track by the EVOMS team drivers as well as through our eDRIVE independent product validation program. Rigorous testing under extreme conditions has been conducted and evaluated with various fuel octane grades in the heat of the dry Arizona desert, the cool temperatures and humid weather of the California coast, the high elevation of the Colorado Mountains, the heat and ocean humidity of Mexico and the frigid elements of Minnesota. Our stringent methods used during our testing phases are on par with the testing utilized by Porsche prior to public release of new models. This stringent and grueling method of testing assures pure, crisp and consistent power in all of the conditions that drivers demand.

-More Useable Power and Torque
-Massive Torque Gains (+65 TQ) Between 3000-5000 RPMS
-Smooth Power Delivery (+60 HP) Between 3000-5000 RPMS
-Crisper Throttle Response
-Improved Boost Response
-Extensively Tested and Tuned on the Dyno, Street and Track

No doubt the PDK is nothing short of amazing. But the new 3.8L also help the spool the TT earlier and increase the the torque to the wheels at lower RPM helping the car out accelerate the 3.6L GT2.

On race gas my GT2 will spank the PDK also.....but it is a very un-daily drivable race car w/ a pain in the butt triple carbon clutch etc.

The beauty of the 997.2 is that it is freakishly fast right off the factory floor and soooo easy to drive and live with.

It really has no equal in terms of a total package, IMO.

One of the big attractions is that it is 'always ready'. In my 997.1 TT 6speed I was often cruising in 6th when an opportunity/gap arose, but I could not be bothered (or have time) to drop a cog or two, or three... The PDK... just mash it and it takes off whether in normal, sport or sport+. It is a supreme DD for someone looking to haul...

Also, getting off the line is idiot (me) proof. This Sunday I was enjoying a nice drive and I was about to pull onto a fairly busy 55mph road from standstill. I was in sport mode (auto, not M) and I just mashed the gas... there was some slight tirespin and the backend was moving out a little and the thing few. I have not tried the LC yet... but given how fast the 'mash the noise pedal'....

Agreed 100% jitsu. This is what I am saying. After driving DK's PDK .2, I was REALLY impressed with how responsive it is in sport plus and hit a button and just drive it like its an S class Mercedes...simply put the best of both worlds!

Quote: That's my PDK and I just have to say that the power and acceleration from the PDK is simply phenomenal. It's miles faster than the 997.1 (which I used to have) and I wonder what kind of stuff and technology Porsche added to get this improvement.

On the runs I started on 2nd gear (Sport Plus mode) and once I stepped on the gas the car immediately jumped ahead. I was really surprised that I was ahead of the GT2 most of the time.... (we ran from 100km/h to about 250?)

The PDK is simply an amazing ride, I can't even imagine what if the PDK had a tune on it....
hi there...
everybody tells that the 997.1TT should be faster than the PDK after 250km/h...

since there was a 997TT.1 in the video racing a panamera...

did you tried some races with the 997.1TT??
results?
do you believe that your car can be slower than the old one after 250??

thank you, thats the 1 million question!!!

the driver of the 997.1TT said he tried following the GT2/PDK Turbo several times, and upon take off, they would just disappear and he had no hope of catching.

having said that, they obviously stepped on the gas before he, and almost all of these races were only up to 240-250kmh. reinforcing that the speeds were in the sweet spot of the PDK Turbo... if magazine reports are to be believed.
