Personalized plate: thoughts?

Just wanted to keep it pretty simple so am likely going to go with my initials and the model of the car. Think I have narrowed it down to either:

JT997TT

or

JT911TT

Obviously the 911 will be more easily recognizable to the masses, but curious as to which people on this forum would vote for ...
Thanks for your thoughts.

I'd go with the 911. It's rather timeless.
And you could possibly shift the plates if you decide on getting a 998...

Ok, id say if you can get JT 911 then that would be perfect. If its available id jump on it immediately. Now if thats gone its probably sitting on the back of some poor sods 10 year old ford laser or corolla in hope of that proverbial lotto win happening....well you never know....it may happen....and if they've got the plate then all they need is the car (joking but....yet serious too). Second choice would be JT 997 as going the full tt thing well....i reckon that could be seen as a bit of a toss as its obvious that your in one so why try and be too car specific....thats just me being my overly opinionated self...sorry.
Anyways with the black car definately get the black plate with the white letters if you can. Fall back would be getting J?T 911 using your middle initial if you have one. Just my 2 cents worth. No right or wrong here.

Cheers P.

Don't get a personalized plate--too easy to remember.

I actually like JT997TT as it won't draw as much unwanted attention as 911 but those who know what it is will know. And more importantly, you'll know.

Some very good points guys - exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
I have no intentions of selling this car (who ever does when they first get one - but I seriously hope I have this car in 20 or 30 years) so am less afraid of the "997" being too model specific.
Back to the registry to check a couple other options and decide ...

Exactly my thoughts. Don't need busy bees calling the cops just because you pass them going 80 while they're in the left lane doing 55 and talking on the cell phone. My preference would be something like 0IBO81. You get the idea.

I disagree. No1 is going to get a ticket because some1 called the cops.
<O
Cop - Yes Sir I pulled you over because we had a random phone call and the person told us that they were driving safely w/ their seat belt on minding their own business and a Black 911 Porsche w/ the licenses plate XXXXX came flying by. They assured us they were doing the speed limit and you had to be doing 35 mph over to pass them that fast. So I am going to write you a ticket for 105 mph. Please step out of the car, it will be towed and you are going to jail. <O
<O
Yeah, right. The cops have to catch you doing something wrong. I pay attention to Aholes all the time in hopes of seeing the SOBs again so I can cut them off or what ever they did to me. I can’t tell you any of the personal plates, just the kind of car and a brief description of the driver. ( yes I have issues. It’s legal to have a CCW here as well, 45acp. BUT I’m working on it! ) I live in a relative small area population wise and I have never seen any of these people again. I haven’t been told I am #1 in a driving situation in a long time so I must be doing something right. <O</O
<O
My point is if you want a personal plate gets it; don’t let some screwball idea keep you from it. Also just be respectful and safe at any speed you drive and you will have a lot less stress and problems. <O
<O
My plate is a combo of my last name and the answer to many of life’s tough questions. <O

Yeah - very good points. Not overly concerned with p!ssing someone off with my driving. Always respectful, very slow in residential, and I don't think anyone gets too bent from seeing a nice sports car pass them on a freeway etc at a reasonable amount over the limit. Just my thoughts as well.

For who turbodickie? Some loser nana pest youve been forced to blast past in a screaming fit after being stuck behind them for an eternity . I dont know about you but I hate wasting a second of my driving time being stuck behind total FW's and couldnt give a flying frogs fat a!se if any of these pests remember my plate...in fact i damn well hope they do so next time they see me come up behind them they might cut me some slack to get past their 50kph slug in a 100 zone. And, a personalised plate can give one a kind of phsycological ownership to the car they love and these P cars can be very lovable even if in a kooky kinda way for some . I say go the personalised and if not...each and everyone to their own . And if you drive ok and not like a total lunatic you wont really draw neagtive attention except from those nanna's that really ask for it.

And the cop thing...i totally agree with hoopa on this one. What cop is honestly going to believe some crank phoning up over a black P car tearing past them.
