considering an after market exhaust tips
Yes, I still have the original accumulator. I have been thinking about swapping it out but I want to try it on someone's car before making that decision. Hopefully this weekend I can find someone with a GT3 that will let me try it.
The concerns are not about the tips per say, rather about the empty gaps surrounding them.
They probably need to make some plastic bit through which the tips protrude and which closes the empty gaps. I think it would look more elegant.
Also, the tips in question, as Can pointed out, look to me to be somewhat unfinished, in an afterthought kind of way.
The concept of big round tips itself is great, if properly executed.
On a lighter note, I'm positive Stef's will be wicked. Congrats and post pics.
And good luck on the weekend.

Everyone has their idea of what looks good and in this I am different from most (apparently) in that I think unpolished stainless will look more aggressive than polished will.
Will do and thanks.
But dont go the orange accents thing....that look sucks imo. Have fun at the track
.Nice find k-ddsl.
Someone's done the job properly. The bar has been set. Big singles with surrounds.....nice
. Shiney pipes too I note
.Now i hope those pipes dont melt the bar tho...they do look kind of close
.
I think the SpeedArt solution is definitely a step in the right direction. BTW, ruf_turbo, I don't mean to be critical of single exhaust opening at all -- far from it, as I think that's the simplest and nicest solution, besides the fact that I know my double tip is just a fake
. It's just that the Porsche design guys in their infinite wisdom give us that weird shape, that makes it very difficult for single tip. I am sure if you could camouflage that rectangle, it would look nice.

Indeed, it's a handsome car!
Alternatively, if they don't, have it custom made like theirs!
I find this one pipe thing funny, not cause the look, just the fact that if the car came with one we would all want dual tips, lol, we always want something different, here is a great example

It was replaced with something that looked similar but was ceramic coated and had a 3" opening to mate to the EP II exhaust. It looks fine but I wanted to try something different and the twin tips are very common now...even on non-tt cars.
I don't know what came on your car, but mine came with ONE oblong tip...on each side of course.

I guess this would not be the perfect example then
Congrats Ruf...
You were right going to EP for this. Finish is just outstanding.
I'm also loving the unpolished look. Can't wait to see 'em installed.
Hopefully you'll be able to find the gap closing solution "oblong" the way.

The wait is over. For your edification, here's the tips installed.

Here's a pic with 1 new, 1 old. The old were black ceramic coated.
