First off, let me say this is a great site as i have been lurking here for about two years now....
I have been searching for a pcar with certain options for a while and thought i found the right one only to have it slip out of my hands by about 30mins.
Got to the dealer to basically buy it, and they told me it sold about a half hour before i got there,..i was very disappointed to say the least.
Here is what i was looking to buy. Nicely optioned 07tt, 7000 miles, blk on blk, manual 6spd, sport chrono, adaptive seats, ceramics, headrest crests, and diff.
Price was 95k.
What i'd like to know is...was this too high of a price? The car still had a few months of warranty left.
I'm relatively new to the whole pcar phenomenon coming over from mostly Audi products rs6, rs4, s4, etc... i'll keep looking, it would be awesome to get some help from those of you have lots of experience with pcars. What should i be looking for, what options are worth the extra costs...etc
TIA

When looking at used Turbos .. things like the mileage and how well kept the car is matters with the pricing. Once the car crosses 10K miles it takes a depreciation hit and under 10K adds desireability , particularly if it has nice options, clean paint, and good engine history .
There's no shortage of black Porsche Turbos . In fact Southern California seems to always have an abundance of black cars on dealership lots because not long ago there was some media attention given in that region which led to discusion topics like this.

So --black cars seem to be out of favor in the region in terms of public sentiment and in my opinion that makes it a great place to shop for a black car.
On manual transmissions the axle lock is on about half of them . Ceramics are also not on every car .
There are so many options and since each option is separate a dealership could claim that any combination is "rare" .

I think as long as the car has some reasonable warranty left CPO isn't THAT big of a deal. If you find a car you like, the price is right, and there's warranty left, don't let lack of CPO break the deal.
If you decide to buy from someone other than a P dealer I would highly recommend getting a PPI from a dealer first.

Yeah I think mid 80s is aggressive for those options. Given what you described as being a very desireable combination (imho) I think the dealer is justified in not slashing his price.
I also think sometimes you have to pay up just a little bit more than the other guy to get exactly what you want - this sounds like one of those cases.
For example, some color combinations with auto trans and not well optioned would pressure the seller to hit a bid. Others (like you described) might pressure the buyer to lift the offer. You'd hate to be always missing out because you were trying to lowball or look for the perfect deal while others were getting and driving awesome cars by just getting slightly more aggressive.
Just my $0.02 cents ...

Yuppers. Bought it out of consignment at Porsche of Spokane. I had a great experience, and the dealership is top notch. You are fairly close, you may give them a call and see if they know anyone getting ready to trade out of a turbo. My sales guy was David Barton, stand up guy.

Wow, thats a nice price. I really like the car in white, but no rush as you'll probably see more cars hitting the market once the new Turbo S gets delivered to the salivating buyers.

Ok...some great info here. Getz you definitely got an excellent deal with those options. I'm basically looking for the same.
I'm wondering though,..are the ceramic brakes something that is a must have? I'd like to have the rear axle diff, sport chrono package, nav, heated seats, adaptive seats for sure...the pccb i may take a pass on. I'm thinking the the standard big reds are more than adequate for a car that won't see a huge amount of track time.

This combination is not that desireable on the used market. I happen to like it , so do you .. but that doesn't mean anything .
First off ceramics might sell well on a new car but the used car shopper is usually trying to save money --otherwise he's buy a new car. On the used market one of the first questions is how expensive it is to repair ceramics --expecially on an out of warranty car.
Second -black is not a popular color in California . Of course there are black cars .. but it's still not popular. The combination of dry climate , dust , maintenance , swirl potential , and general regonal sentiment --it's is very common to hear "any color except black" . It just so happens taht Porsche buiulds a lot of black cars .. it is a standard color . It is far from rare or exclusive.
