For Turbo or Turbo S?? Tell me how this goes you pick up your car and drive for a few days. Do you then take back to Porsche for them to ship to you? Do you only have to pay tourist charge or do you have to pay for additional shipping ? What about taxes. I would love to visit Germany one day and pickup car. That is if its not a big hassle?

For an S
The factory pick-up,aka"tourist delivery" is an option that Porsche charges 4075$ for,it includes 2 weeks of insurance, valid all throughout Europe along with roadside assistance...but you can buy up to 6 months of additional coverage(the length of which you need to specify when u pay for your car 30 days before pick-up)
It also includes factory and museum tour,as well as lunch in their vip restaurant and last but not least a Porsche engineer to explain everything about your car
He welcomes you in an immaculate room filled with about 20 other Porsches waiting to be picked up and will take all the time you need.
Afterwards you can drop off your car at Porsche approved drop off points,or bring back the car to the factory(which is when i visit the museum and enjoy enjoy their lovely top floor restaurant overlooking the factory)
Also included in the 4075$,they ship your car to the dealer you bought it from
No taxes to pay,but you do have to give a 15000$ VAT deposit check you are refunded once your car clears customs in the US.
Basically,Porsche takes care of everything....except for the driving
It is a great way to discover Germany!
I could not imagine a more fun place than the Autobahn to get to know your car

Question is how many laps on the Norschlieffe(sp?) is he going to do?

I know I would be aiming for sub 8 minutes!
