Does FVD flash raise rev limiter?
The tune is absolutely great plus you'll have one of the best tuners in the business in your back seat. The other key consideration for me (beyond the quality of the product) was the ability to develop a good working relationship with a tuner. I found getting direct access to tuners who could provide techincal answers to questions that made sense to me was not easy. So put it this way, if I had to do it all over again, would I choose Proto? Absolutely, 100%, no questions about it. The whole experience has far exceeded my expectations.
Just confirmed via Durametric that my Proto tune also registers stage 1 overrevs when I rev to new limit but curiously it didn't change the timer for when the last overrev was registered (which was 27 hrs).
for 997TT,stage 1 over rev is 6800-7000 while stage 2 over rev is 7000-7200rpm.Also stage 3 is 7200-7500rpm.these numbers are fixed and cant be changed...so if you set your rev limit to etc. 7500rpm you will het over rev types 1,2 and 3 every time you hit the revlimit...
This is the info provided by durametric:
Range 1: 7300-7500 RPM
Range 2: 7500-7700 RPM
Range 3: 7700-7900 RPM
Range 4: 7900-8400 RPM
Range 5: 8400-9500 RPM
Range 6: 9500-11000 RPM
Range 1: 7300-7500 RPM
Range 2: 7500-7700 RPM
Range 3: 7700-7900 RPM
Range 4: 7900-8400 RPM
Range 5: 8400-9500 RPM
Range 6: 9500-11000 RPM

That's great to hear! I have FVD tune, but somehow I really can't feel too much of a difference powerwise. I do see close to 17-18 psi all the time and lag is greatly reduced due to exhaust.
lol.
I did see that in the header but in the screen it referred to a 997 so I presumed the header was wrong. So what is the proper range for each level of overrevs for a 997tt?

I found different sites with different ranges listed, but I THINK the right one for the 6 ranges is:
range 1: 6800-7000
range 2: 7000-7200
range 3: 7200-7400
range 4: 7400-7900
range 5: 7900-9000
range 6: +9000
this is pretty close to what Skand listed above.

range 6: +9000

Well, my tune was set to record overrevs only after 10,200 rpm above the revlimit (7200) but as I said earlier there is a bug somewhere. It's still a curiosity why Softronic is able to accomplish this while others who evidently use the same front end cannot.
The answer is in the tune and not what flashed the car. This is the same reason some tunes make more HP than others etc. There is also multiple rev sections in the 997 and GT2 files.
The two ranges above are correct. One is for the Turbo engines and the other or higher range one is for the NA engines.
Best,
Scott
