Hey guys got a chance to clean up the car today and take a few pics of my latest project - installing a "Techart" type I rear spoiler from board sponsor ROTtec (Part# RT-ET7031). Great price, great service and speedy delivery as always from Ray.

I decided the install was something I could do myself so unpacked the box last weekend and got at it. The little spoiler removal tool was much smaller than I was picturing but it did the job. I did put a little felt pad on the crescent part of it that touches the spoiler hydralic pillar just so it didn't mark it up. From there just went carefully and the stock spoiler was off in no time.

My one small complaint on the new spoiler was that I had to run the double threaded metal pieces into the spoiler itself which proved slightly dificult and stressful. It took a bit of force and I was nervous that I might crack the new spoiler - but a little careful persistence paid off.

After that it was just a matter of screwing the new one on and presto - a small and subtle but still noticeable (mostly by Porsche-nuts) change.

Quality seem very good. It was light weight and fit and finish was great. Purely from looking at other pics I think the product is very very close to the genuine article. My spoiler came painted and the paint seems to be of decent quality as well - certainly it's a great match to my black.

I must say I am quite pleased. My favourite angles are either directly behind with the bi-plane look of the spoiler, reminiscent of the OEM aero-kit spoiler and the front quarter view. The latter was a bit of a surprise to me and I tried to capture it in a picture below, but in person the added height of the new spoiler shows up nicely from the front quarter view of the car and gives it an aggressive look that I quite like.

I just did the rear as well as TA type 1 front spoiler, as well as GT2 side skirt. I also think it looks great!

That looks great! Love the Techart look. Rotec is impressing me more and more with the quality of their stuff.

 

love the look when it's down but not when it's raised ,i believe you can disable that feature right ?

 

I like it when it down. Anyone with a PIWIS can program it to stay down.

I was initially unsure of the look of it up as well, but I will say it has grown on me and looks better in person in my opinion. It also looks cool while driving on highway and you really notice it raising up in the rear view mirror now.
