Been to alcantraz on the tour, not 3mile island. I would take a jeep tour though and $110

Back to the OP, on my 3rd PCar, love every bit of them.

Its a box well worth ticking. The few small issues you (may) come across over the course of ownership wont dent the enjoyment you will get. Ive had my fair share of problems unfortunately (inc clutch slave/acc, front diff etc) but it still hasnt taken the shine off for me just yet. As boggy says you look forward to every drive and, none really seem quite long enough . Dont miss it!!

what were the reasons behind selling the 996? if i were you i would get a 997gt3rs.. but saying that they are a lot more pricey.. i cant believe how reasonably priced some 997 turbos are getting - my budget just wouldn't stretch that far so that why i got a 996tt.. but im extremely happy with it.. i have a feeling you like boost though!

I sold my 996 (and my range rover sport) for three reasons mainly
  • Instead of having two nice cars, might as well get one really nice exotic
  • wanted to get a gallardo
  • my 996 was an 01 (9 year old car) and although they are solid cars, I wanted something newer
Problem is that the nice gallardos are easily in the $115k. That's not bad however I've been reading a lot of expensive maintenance and problems. I remember always being concerned that my RRS would break down on me one day on the road. I don't like/want that feeling in a car I'm spending $115-120k on. That's just not right!

I've seen a few turbos in the mid 70's - low 80's and that leaves plenty for me to mod and equip with precision porsche parts I really enjoyed my 1.5 year ownership of my 996 and I like the look of the 997 more too.

Edwin
