Nearly 7000 miles on my '08 Turbo and I have never added a drop of oil, except for two oil changes a year apart. I was concerned initially that my oil level indicator was not reading right, but I gradually learned to trust it. Way too paranoid obviously.

have 26k miles on my 2008 997tt. uses 1/2 quart every 5k miles

I have 3500 miles on my 2010 TT and have not burned any oil. I have read that the direct fuel injection helps with this.
