Help. Which intercoolers to buy?
I'm sure the other tuners have good ones as well, so you probably can't go wrong whatever you choose.
I'm using Markski's 4.5 inch intercoolers for my car. I'm running over 600 hp to the tires on low boost and low 700s on high boost. I'm very happy with them and they look great. Almost like fine jewelry. Something you'd like to put on display somewhere where people could enjoy looking at it, not underneath your car.
For the 997tts use the same ones as on our 996tts... One of our client's car made 1100rwhp and 950+rwtq, my car made almost 1000rwhp and ran 4.59s 60 to 130s as well as 9s in a 1/4... not sure what else can be said....
Here they are on our 997tt... all with 2.5" hard piping to the turbo as well as to the Y pipe.... not to mention the 2.5" complimentary stock replacement Y pipe... look at the kink on the stock Y pipe at the junction to the side hoses that lead to the ICs... its 1.8" ID at best vs. 2.35" ID with our set up... We believe in getting rid of all possible airflow reductions as much as possible... lots of good info coming soon.... do it once do it right...

To decide which intercoolers best suit your purposes, you need to ask yourself what do ICs do? They do very specific things that affect engine performance. Every tuner or designer should be able to provide you specifics if you ask them the right questions. Read up on thermal efficiency and pressure efficiency. Learn what can and can not be shown on a dyno versus a datalog. Marketing information may look pretty, but in the end, a tuner should be able to provide you hard facts about how well their intercooler extracts heat (thermal efficiency) and maintains flow (pressure efficiency.)
Here's a good start.
