997.1 TT Techart vs Sportec vs 9ff vs Edo vs Speedart

http://www.sportec.ch/files/document...19235f6716.pdf

This is the best tuner comparison test I have seen. The best results are very close to the 997.2 TT, but the quarter miles are slower...

Its a test from 2007, but still interesting...

1.Techart
2.Sportec SP 580
3.Edo Shark GT
4.9ff TR-63
5.Speedart BTR 530

Sorry had time only for google translate:

Porsche Turbo Tuning is the pinnacle of the operator. AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS has tested five inflated 911 - and experienced a few surprises.
By Ralf Kund We hereby apologize to the residents of the village pig village in Rothenburg. This short roar on 19 April morning at half past six: We were. Or rather, Edo, Sportec, Speedart, Neuneffeff and Techart. The five boys can not rein in her temper always. And on the way to the airport measuring what has happened: Edo on the gas, nobody wants to back down. And blow-twitch ruck five highly potent Exhaust for Halali. We were curious: Who is measuring the acceleration of our first discipline, have the edge? After all, the bandwidth of the five neat enough bellows of 530 to 630 hp. And also the kind of performance is from the pure modification of motor control, respectively charge pressure and exhaust system (Speedart) on the additional use of sports intercooler (Edo) and greater VTGLader (Sportec, Techart) to the exchange of connecting rods and camshafts (9ff). Logical that the effort reflected financially: 50 more hp to the serial turbo you get in Speedart for 8306 €, Edo takes 26 950 € (including sports intercooler) for 70, Sportec can pay only 100 additional horses with 28 276 €, Techart makes this for 26,000 € (including exhaust). Finally 9ff required for the 150-horsepower Pushup 32 011 €.
Despite the differences in performance almost on par
Close together: When Sprint affects the performance difference of up to 100 hp from barely.

7 clock, airport Rothenburg. Cold 2.5 degrees are optimum conditions for engines. The tires would have liked it warmer. But thanks to four-wheel traction problems should be limited. The first surprise: Despite the huge difference in performance levels are from 0 to 100 km / h close together. In the worst case (3.45 s; Speedart) is exactly half a second under the factory turbo. In the best case (3.35 s; Sportec) but also just a blink faster. Nevertheless: Thanks to the cool weather all measured values are below the factory specifications. We eagerly await the outcome of the 0-200 km / h measurements. If the three candidates with the larger loaders (Techart, 9ff, Sportec) might play out here its advantages?

With a loud roar car crashing test driver Sebastian Schneider the runway up and down. The 9ff sounds with an open door, like a racing car, the Sportec chases a rolling thunder across the airfield, the Edo screeches like a turbine, the Speedart mag's pretty dull, and only the TECHART reveals a certain test, a rich exhaust noise with just sound volume to . connect It is almost a miracle that the built-in Edo, 9ff, Sportec Speedart and flap exhaust systems have received the blessing of the TÜV.
During braking, the five turbos are reaching their limits
Modest: The Sportec is from 100 km / h after 39.2 meters.
Modest: The Sportec is from 100 km / h after 39.2 meters.
The striking result is also in the sprint to 200 km / h range between the best (10.25 s; 9ff) and the "worst" (10.98 s; Speedart) just 73 hundredths of a second. to believe at the differences in performance hardly. We suggest: a few candidates (Speedart, Edo stack) is somewhat deep with its power rating, which is consistent with the subjective sensation. As expected, it is optimal braking characteristics to cold. Only the Speedart remains with the first phase is under 40 meters, and all the other reached only after several attempts and reheated according to Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Semislicks acceptable levels. A good example here is the Edo 35.9 meters, but with sports brake pads that he has in common with the 9ff who is also the only one equipped with ceramic brakes and 380 mm front discs instead of the standard 350 mm. Disappointing: the Sportec who stands in the tenth braking until 39.2 meters. At higher temperatures would have cut off all five significantly better.

Sprint King: Fast to 200 km / h as the 9ff is not a competitor.
Sprint King: Fast to 200 km / h as the 9ff is not a competitor.
Before we set off to determine the direction Nürburgring lap times, we evaluate the data from the acceleration measurements: the 9ff in wins Sportec, Edo, Techart and Speedart. When the elasticity is the Edo away because of his Tiptronic. Here again, the 9ff is in front, followed by matches between Speedart and Sportec. Easily knocked off the Techart, the acceleration from 80 to 120 km / h because of its longer translated gears five and six and also has enough speed among the tours at lower bit delayed responding large turbochargers suffer. Conclusions about the practicality of a fast trip-GT - as such and not as extreme want to know the least understood plant Turbo - can best take on the highway, the preferred area of such cars.

TechArt Turbo - his area is the motorway.
TechArt Turbo - his area is the motorway.
Here is the other choice Techart without bucket seats and a comparatively softer design in his element when it comes to stress, very fast traveling speed. SeinGewindefahrwerk that up to 25 mm can be lowered, works with Porsche's PASM damper system and offers the best comfort. leads only to bad roads and high speed with short bursts of hard to be too much attenuation up and down movements. The bulging wheel is a matter of taste, which WORKMANSHIP in the test but the best.
In everyday operation, the cars are quite difficult

The problem: The Speedart-wing wobbles concern at 160 mph.
The Speedart also comes from the chassis with the least modifications, which is clearly not a disadvantage. His sport spring kit harmonises well on fast motorway sections, is not nervous at the front and offers all the firmness yet pleasant rest in comfort. However, problems for the spoiler, which shook violently 160-180 km / h and had to be replaced twice. Only remedy for the return to the standard rear wing caused armor. Like a Swiss watch, the Sportec marches, not quite, but it offers very powerful acceleration and an interesting charge noise. The exhaust sound is as beautiful, deep chord, the volume may annoy but on long journeys. Similarly, the loud wind noise and vibrations of the large, fixed rear spoiler. Our test car also surprised with sudden charge misfire under full load and frequent error messages from the onboard computer.

To clear the motorway hard: the Edo shark GT.
tuned for the track, the complex suspension of Edo (attenuation in pressure makes the train and adjustable needle valves) on the highway to a nervous impression. In short bursts the Edo-Competition-week suspension creaks also as an old sofa, but provides maximum steering precision. Overall, the Edo for everyday use is too hard, also the exhaust enormously annoying with unpleasant frequency. Another piece of his brutal takes the 9ff (ran up because of the removed back seat), two inmates. Offers uncompromising comfort trimmed to circular trips in train and rebound adjustable racing suspension with no progressive racing springs of the 9ff. For the background noise with whistles, rattles, hisses and snorkeling is the most interesting - but the volume is no longer acceptable. In poorer streets of the 9ff is very nervous, just to wavy or stößigen highways. For everyday too extreme, but overall very fun. It follows for the daily use: 1 Techart, 2 Speedart, 3 Sportec, 4 Edo, 5 9ff.
At the Nürburgring show their strengths Turbos

Pinnacle circuit - and the 911 from all Speedart depends.
But the discipline is still king: the racetrack. SPORTSCARS test driver Dierk Möller-Sonntag is the infallible instrument when it comes to assessing the interaction of all components. And always good for surprises. First he beats the GT Edo Shark for the course. "Perfect racing suspension has, directs most of grip at the front, a most precise and offers the best feedback," said his verdict. 1:39,03 minutes it takes for the short layout of the Nürburgring. A little perspective of the very good impression of the Edo will, however, as he was the only one with a strongly negative, not everyday fall perfectly for the race track. Next, the fast Sportec's turn. "Less feeling in the steering wheel while turning, and a very toxic handling. At the limit you have to give in immediately after the counter-steering, because the overloaded Sportec strong." The result: 1:39,17 minutes for the Swiss.

Curious, we are uncompromising on the 9ff. He draws not so sharp as the Edo, but gives a very good feedback. His problem: the very strong damping lose the front wheels during hard braking into the ground. The costs, despite the well-dosed braking time: 1:40,14 minutes after the clock stops. The Techart can primarily by the delayed concessions and the lack of clearly defined feedback in the steering miss the last tick sportiness. 1:40,30 min for unproblematic, but a little sluggish Techart. And then the surprise: with 1:38,53 minutes, the fastest time Speedart. "He is very good and calm, showing no load change is in the border area is very good natured and has a lot of grip at the front." Less can sometimes be more. The complete comparison with all the technical data you can download as a PDF.
