20" wheel fitment question

What's the appropriate wheel width and tires for 997TT?

I've seen 20x9 or 20x8.5 for the front with 245-30-20 for the front.
And 20x12 with325/25/20 for the rear.

What's preferable for the front? Other sizing options?

Thank you

I think the 20x8.5 and 20x12 is the best fit for the Turbo 997's, I have seen 20x9 and 20x13 done as well. The 20x9 is fine up front also, it also depends on which tire you prefer. I think the Michelins are the best tire for 997's so i would run 20x9 with the Michelin in 245/30/20, it has a sqaurer shoulder which looks good and matches the rear 325/25/20 just fine.

I just saw this thread. Evidently someone was running 20x13 with 345 25 20s.

We recommend the 20x8.5 (or 20x9) and 20x12.5. The 345 rear tire provides an acceleration benefit on a traction-limited car like the 997TT, especially if it is modified for increased performance.

I def like the wider width wheel/tires but I guess tires become more expensive and not as many options once you get that width.

We usually build 20x8.5 ET51 front with a 245/30-20, and 20x12.0 rear ET47 with a 325/25-20.
Be cautious running a 9.0 front, in some cases running a 9.0" wide wheel up front can limit your ability to upgrade the suspension with a coil over.

I hope this information is useful.

Very helpful - thanks Jim

The 325s I am getting are at about $200 cheaper than the lowest priced 345s - around $500.
