MY MISTAKE: I thought the original post was asking about the EXTERNAL intake duct shape (ie my avatar photo) not internal ducting. As for the internal's effects, of course they would have an externalized effect because of whatever back pressure they cause, but surely of no consequence. It's not like we're talking about capturing supersonic shock waves in a jet aircraft inlet- to prevent compressor stall at Mach 2! But wait, that's how the GT2 gets its name, isn't it? I have so much to learn!

The intercooler ducts are hidden behind the rear body panel, and modifications include shaving the edge or shortening the length. They have NO influence on the aerodynamic shape of the car. Any aftermarket intercooler will require some modification to the duct from trimming the bracket (do you really think this influences drag?)...

...to shortening the duct channel.

i agree.evoms sells them, and they claim more efficiency.Ive got over 700 hp on my 997, and was just wondering if it was worth changing ducts. Some say the stock ducts are fine, but when u get into the kind of power i have, that they cud possibly leak??so far so good.

dg,
Just to clarify, you are intersted in the turbo air inlet ducts that channel air from the intake filter down to the turbos, correct?

Ahh, thanks. For what its worth, one of my local customers was the first to have the TAID's installed and the gains on that car (EVOMS I/C's, 70mm Fabspeed exhaust, EVOMS 44.5mm Clubsport headers, EVOMSit software and EVOMSit TCU software) after adding the inlet ducts was around 22hp to the wheels, and that was with factory turbos. obviously if you have aftermarket turbos and are producing more air flow in general you will see even better gains.
