Battery recommendation?
Odyssey Batteries.. they are a dry-cell like an optima, light weight like a Braille, parent company of Interstate I think. Used on Nasa shuttle - good enough for the Porsche
Back when we went to war you couldn't get one no matter what cause the US govt. bought them all to send over to Iraq for their vehicles there.

Or go to West Coast Batteries. They can assist in a purchase. I got mine at my local race shop where I get my VP 109 gas.

I have the standard PC 680.

Great thread. Thanks sbkim! My battery seems to be losing charge quickly if I don't keep it hooked up to the trickle during downtime. Car is 3 years old with almost 15K miles. Will probably be making that trip to Walmart fairly soon
[quote=E55AMG;3051639]knock on wood - A little over 3 years old and 43K miles and no signs of battery losing it's juice. Keep an eye on it - I kept mine on a maintainer and starts weren't a problem until all of a sudden the battery went out - 3 years, 17,000 miles.
Same here Chris. My 07 has 27k is 3.7years old and I still have the original battery. I use it regularly but its not my DD. On occasion I'll hook it up to the trickle charger via the cigarette lighter. Seems to work so far. This info will come in handy (probably sooner than later) when its time to replace it. Great info on this board.

how often do you drive it? /trickle charge it?
are you one that has extra accessories in the car like charging GPS/phones etc does it handle this well?
Well, my battery finally bought the farm while getting upgrades at EVO. Scooted to the local Walmart and picked up one of the Everstart batteries. Good thing I preemptively searched for this thread or I'd be SOL
Thanks sbkim!

Thanks sbkim!
I used the Interstate. Yes its a little longer so covers the factory holes but i just used the drain hole at the end of the tray and got a nut from Porsche, worked like a charm. I also bought a trickle charger. Porsche has a mileage requirement for warranty I guess after paying out on too many garage queens
ODYSSEY Batts almost NEVER need charging. You can completely drain them down to 0% and recharge them and be good as new. I think they can last up to 300cycles.
