Navigation DVD missing-

Hey so I purchased my car from a used car dealer, to find out im missing my navigation dvd. When I called Porsche this morning to buy a new one they told me it would take 1 week, its 301.00 $ and they would have to program it at the dealer for another 100.00$

Is this true? Is there any way I can purchase the DVD over the web?

What year is your car, I bought my 07 turbo and it did not have one. The dealer ordered a new DVD package for me and I just put it in and it works but I never use navigation. But when I went through all the books I found the old DVD 10/06, and put it on Ebay for $50.00.

Please ask the dealer what exactly they are "programming" for $100.

I got the update DVD kit they say on it that you need to have it programed. I just took the new updated DVD and stuck it into the Nav unit and it works just fine. I think you can just buy a used DVD and it will work. I think the second DVD but it might just update the hard-drive.

Your car is equipped with PCM 2.1. If it is an 08, it is using software version B...it is already updated. A new navigation DVD can only be used in your PCM 2.1 without any "programming." If you had an 05 or 06, PCM 2.1 was using version A...and an update to the PCM operating system is required for newer navigation disks.

Call Suncoast and talk to the folks there about a replacement navigation disc...or try eBay. But do you research first, as most places will not offer refunds to opened software.

Hey Ronnie,

Yes you can and yes it will.

A while back I bought a VW Tuareg and the dealership actually provided me with a copied dvd nav disc. No Probs.

Hope this helps.
