Exhaust louder on passenger side than driver side at idle? Normal?

Hi Guys,
I have a FVD exhaust with cat bypass and I have noticed that passenger side pipe is louder than driver side at idle in sport mode. In normal mode the sound is about even. Is it normal?

Thanks alot!

Shawn

Well...considering your hearing is OK this is not normal...there should be a leakage somewhere in the exhaust...

Thanks guys! I retightened exhaust today and its still louder on the passenger side. Passenger side just sound crispier and louder.. I couldn't detect any leak, maybe it's the fvd thing? or something is wrong with my car.
oh it's louder on pass side in both normal and sport mode.

When you start it wrap your hands around each joint before it heats up to detect a pulse of exhaust gas. If the joints are not lined up correctly there will be a gap regardless of how tight things seem.

Thanks! I just put my hand after the exhaust tip. seems like the exhaust gas doesn't come out as strong on the driver side. I think pressure is lost somewhere in the system and made it quiter ?

Your car runs like a champ.... I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thanks Sam! I think it's due to my diy install, I will have to take it apart and redo it.

Feel the joint itself for a blow- by type leak.

There's definately a leak at the joint. I may have screwed up the joint on the pipe and it's not round anymore

Just try repositioning the clamp, rotate it 90-180 degrees then tighten it, usually works.

Thanks! I will try that out tomorrow. Other wise I will have to buy a new pipe for the driver side or get a muffler shop to do it.
