New 2012 911

Dear friends , two month ago I order a new 997-2 turbo and finaly arrived one week ago, its already in port and next week it will be in my hands if god permit it. I hope I,ll enjoy it because my last car was a M5-2006 and I was very disapointed .
One week ago I read on wordcarfans that a market launch is just around the corner, if these is true, what I,m going to do with my new car, do I received it or not, in order to wait for the next launch to order it.

It may be some time before Porsche produces a turbo in the new 2012 body.......

Most likely it will be 1 year before the 2012 models arrive. Then it will be another year or two (most likely) before the Turbo arrives^^^see above.
So if you want a turbo then get the current one or wait about 2-3 years. Unless you wanted a new 2012 N/A 911 in which case you would only wait a year.
just my thoughts

Yes, you should change it more frequently, about every 8000-10000kms for regular driving, more frequently if you're driving 'flat out'.

If you are going to track your car alot do it every 4 weekends.

Really depends on driving style and a lot of other factors, but its best to keep everything lubricated and running well.

I usually change the oil in track cars right around that interval regardless of how many miles they've done.

It will be a couple of years after a new 911 launch to see a new Turbo.
Track use, most shops recommend every 6 days of track time on a change plus bump bleed the brakes after each event.

Why were you disappointed with your M5? curious to know .......the E60 M5 is not a disappinting car....

also, you are better of just buying this turbo (can you really get away with not taking delivery without a penalty?)

OIL change is almost a must after 6-8 track days irrecpective of distance travelled...hope that helps!

If I heard correctly, the next Turbo will not be out until 2014.

I can relate to you on this one .the M5 was a big disappointment
had that car in late 2006 maybe for about four mouths. gave it back to the dialer and bought 07 ML63 AMG.
In 2008 I also bought the 997tt,and modded the sh...t out of it.
Let me tell you there is no other car in the world that can do what Porsche does. -.it is simlpy different and better
.

Enjoy the Turbo now. Why wait. I guess Porsche might offer a 2011 Turbo as a 2012. Kinda like they held the 996 over in 2005.

I'd wait for the 2025 911 Turbo. I hear the engineers in Stuttgart finally incorporated what Americans have had since 1985...
