Removed Softronic Ecu tune for the track
Removed Softronic Ecu tune for the track
Just got back from the track. Last time I was there I had a Softronic Ecu tune. I previously wrote a small review about the experience of the tune after visiting the track.
Dan from Vivid Racing has been using my 997.2 as a test car for building a new y pipe and exhaust. Because he wasn't finished with the exhaust, I asked him to return the car to stock for my track weekend.
Back to stock, I was able to see the difference in how much less power the car has, as the last time I went I had the tune on. From 60 to 120 the car actually took 200+ more feet to reach that distance.
But its still pretty fast stock

If you go to Chronolyze and sign up for an account, you can see the data acquisition files for both stock and tune.
Go to the public files section (its a free site)
File sept52010_26 is without the tune
File inde motorsports 13 is with the tune.
I was driving harder and faster recently as I get more comfortable with the track but there is a huge difference in the power the car makes and how much quicker you get down the straightaway.
It will be interesting to see what the car does with the tune back on, and with the y pipe and exhaust.

Hey bro!
The title of your thread was a bit misleading! I thought I would find a negative review about Softronic!
I am glad that it's not the case as I personally think Scott Slauson is elite.
More on that soon...

I am happy you're enjoying your car and you are getting to track it.
Wish we had a track here.

Yea I got the Google notification and was like WTF here we go! LOL. But yes, acceleration and top end pull is a HUGE HUGE difference. When your ready, I want to do some dyno and have you take the car to the track with the Exhaust, YPipe, and Flash to get some data
Yes they are. I was quite surprised at the difference without the flash, should be a huge improvement next time with flash, exhaust and y pipe!
Next event for me is at Firebird on Sept 24th, I run with Proautosports group. You have time to get my car ready before then?
