Thanks for that. Would you happen to know Milltek's back pressure?

Back pressure on Stock 997TT: 0.44bar/6.38psi
Back pressure on Europipe EP1: 0.18bar/2.6psi

I am surprised that other exhaust vendors don't want to share this data. I guess not everyone wants to drop their pants in public.

Not sure what is the back pressure

Why u dont check 60-130/100-200kmh and 125-186/200-300kmh and let u know so we could compare it with modded vtg's w/catless exhaust??

shotcaller, can you just clarify - are you saying that going from the Miltek with 200cell to the Proto catless you dropped 0.5-1sec off 100-200 and that was with no other changes?

The car has first modified vtg's, DV's, airfilter, ECU and Milltek exhaust..After that we just went from Milltek to Prototech/Protomotive ( which has same design )

The car was tip ran 0-300kmh in 22-23sec before about couple of years

Perhaps I did not answer completely... My mistake

I answered the power and performance side of things.

The sound quality of the straight pipes is deafening.
Inside the car, it is way too loud and if you take a trip longer than 10 to 15 minutes, you are guaranteed to arrive to your destination plus a headache.

I have two friend running the Protomotive catless x-design exhaust. Sound is OK, performance is excellent.

I preferred going a different route. I bought the new Europipe 997.2TT exhaust. 100 cell racing cats with a much bigger diameter than the stock cats which has 600 cells.

If and when I upgrade the turbos, I can always order cat delete piped from EP for even lower back pressure.

That would be my recommendation. I think it will give you the ideal compromise of sound to performance.

Karim, you sure about that? The cats are welded to the mufflers (at least mine are) and EP has never offered a catless system before because I believe it was against the law to do so.

The system is not modular per se.

A little cutting and welding may be required, but it should not be too difficult if EP do the tubes with all the right bends and provide clear instructions on where to cut, etc...

I will check with Stef if it's possible/recommended.

Larger turbos will always benefit from running a catless system.. Even 200 cell cats create back pressure and higher EGT's.. You will make more power catless at the same boost level and you can run even a little more boost catless as well due to the lower EGTS.. I had a GMG catless system and there wasnt much drone on mine.. Im not real picky though so not sure i paid so much attention.. i drove it daily with no issues tho..

For what its worth, I've spent a lot of time in a 997TT with the tubi race, and it sounded pretty good with very little done.

Personally, I would never run either a catless system, nor would I alter/remove a europipe.

Actually, that's exactly why I started this thread. I have spent a lot of time and money trying to find the perfect exhaust for 997tt and I would like to keep its sound and tone the way it is now. It's that good. So, I am looking to get reassurance that Europipe can breathe freely enough to handle larger snails. I am actually willing to sacrifice "some" performance just to keep the current setup... at this point I am trying to figure out what that "some" is.

ep2 loud

In the next few weeks I will be putting my car on the dyno it has 30/76 turbos with all supporting mods, I really don't want to lose the ep2 loud.
this will be a good test for the exhaust I am looking for about 775-800 rwhp with the exhaust and cats. If it is too restrictive 725-750 I will get a new exhaust. I hope it works.
