TPMS issue need help

Hello I just bought a set of 2011 Turbo II wheels for my 2008 997TT. The set included TPMS, I installed them on my car yesterday (didn't install at a Porsche dealer) and keep geeting TPC inactive warning sign and it shows system learning even after driving 30+ miles. My question is do I need to bring the car into the dealer and have them program the transmitter on these new wheels to my cars ECU??

When I put my wheels on it had to relearn...Then you have to drive several miles and the car should relearn on its on...

Do the reset again. I did mine twice before it started working normal. the first time, the learning didnt take, the second time it did. You should then be fine.

I had a similar problem and the solution turned out to be setting the system to the 'other' tire set, meaning if your original sensors were set to summer, set the new sensors to winter.

The system as explained to me can store 10 sensor settings, 4 for summer and 4 for winter with 2 spares, presumably one spare for each setting.

If you have already stored 8-10 sensor settings the dealer CAN reset it with PIWIS. I don't know if Durametric can reset the settings or not.

BTW, the summer/winter setting doesn't really refer to the type of tires it only refers to another set of sensors.

Hope this helps.

I just picked my car up on Tuesday with new rims and tires...same TPMS issues. I think I had go through the learning process 3 times. By Thursday mid day it started working just fine. I have also found with some of the other warnings that appear time to, just setting the car alarm for 12 hours seems to render all the issues as well. If I do short activations the warnings will not clear...???...however the 12 hours seems to work for me.

I tried that for a few days and still didnt work. I think the issue may be that they were 2011 wheels and tpms going on a 2008 997tt. I will try a few more days if not take a drive to the dealer.

It looks like Porsche changed sensors on the 911 after 2008 from a Beru RDE001 to Beru RDE010.

Hey I just got back from the Porsche dealer and it turns out the sensors are NOT compatible and need to buy new sensors, they want $1450 for new sensors and balancing the tires does anyone know where I can get OEM sensors cheaper?

Try one of the board sponsors - Suncoast, Wheel Enhancement, etc.

What you are looking for is the Beru RDE001 sensor (433Mhz).

I just checked with TPMSWholesalers.com online and they list them as being in stock. Cost is $91.58 each. Buy 4 and shipping is free.

Any decent tire shop will be able to install them for you.
