my dealer loaned me a 2009 997.1 turbo for the weekend - its been a good weekend so far!!!!!!

anyway - the engine sound from 4k rpm up is totally amazing. it was completley unexpected because so many reports/comments on how the exhaust is so quiet. - exhaust may be quiet but this engine is wild

i descirbe it as a caged animal back there.

so QUESTION - can anyone comment on the interrior sound of the DFI 997.2 sound vs this 997.1? i know the Euro rules keep forcing down sound db so i am guessing that it is noticably less?


i am thinking STOCK sound comparo's.

 

i love the sound of my 997.1 turbo at wot under a bridge its very loud.

 

Almost quiet on idle. And louder than the .1 when WOT. And u can easily notice the sound diffrence when sport button pushed while idle on the .2, due to the sound switch

 

with those Euro rules though, i don't understand how the 997.2 can be louder on WOT over 4k rpm?

The sound restrictions limit the db until 3000rpm as far as I know.

 

Bigger Displacement, Diffrent muffler .. I compared it to my friends and yes it sounds louder

 

The 997.2 is louder stock for stock, but definitely doesnt sound as good as the 997.1 when they both have aftermarket exhausts fitted. This is probably due to the dfi. A friend of mine runs an fvd sound version exhaust on his 997.2 turbo, and it does not sound as good as the 997.1 turbo with the same exhaust ( both 200 cell cats)

 

997.2 has the sexiest sound with after market exhaust. It depends what u fit on it! it's sharper and louder with after market. and believe me guys wht i'm saying u can't hear on video's i'm talking of k_ddsl which i meet every day and he has europipe on his car it is exotic!

 

thanks for the comments - the 997.1 at the dealer has a great build - spyder wheels; adaptive seats; xm;ipod;and it is cream white - very personal but i love that in this car.

anyway, the interior is the dark brown - everyone else likes it but i don't know. if it was black interior i would have bought it. but you can't order any more 997.1's so that is why i was trying to get some feedback.

may get it and put black deviating carpet in or order a 997.2 - stll thinking

For the record guys, I never believed I would be this happy with the sound of a 911TT.
That EP pipe sound is intoxicatingly good!

 

After hearing this I now believe the 997.2 TT can sound the best compared to 997.1

In this vid it has an exotic scream to it.
