Went to dragstrip today

We rented the track to test and tune a couple of our customer's GTRs today. So I thought I would make a couple passes in my GT2 in pump gas (93 octane) mode to see what she would do. Car was running in 100 percent street trim on continental Vmax tires at full air pressure. This is exactly how I drive it on the street everyday and just wanted to make a couple passes to see what she would do. First pass, left the traction and stability control on. Traction control kicked in first gear even with a soft launch. First pass was 11.53 @ 139.57 mph. 60 ft time was 2.27 . On the second pass, I turned the stability and traction off. Even with a soft launch, car spun through first and second. I ran a 11.14 @ 140.20 mph. 60 ft time was 2.215. Peak boost hit 22.5 psi and settled down to about 20.5 psi. I concluded that next time I should try a set of drag radials and give it another shot. On the flip side, the E900 GTR (E85) ran a best of 9.62 @ 145.9 mph and the R1K GTR (C16) ran a best of 9.38 @ 156.9 mph. Had a great time at the track with a group of great guys!

Let me be the first to congratulate you/switzer on some great numbers! I'm sure u could gain 3/4 to a full second with the proper tires. 140 mph trap speed is a clear indication that its making huge power. The gtr's are just amazing. It's hard to beat a 9 second daily driven NISSAN. Lastly, you know better than posting this w/o videos! CONGRATS!

The GT2 made 703 rwhp on 93 pump. It made 850 rwhp on C16. But more importantly, picked up about 150 lb.ft of torque. I would gave to guess it would probably trap somewhere in the high 140's, maybe 150 under good conditions.

VERY nice, David! 140 mph traps on pump is awesome and indicates how fast the car really is.

And the 157 MPH for the GTR... Woah!!

Congrats SPI!!

you should have put c16 in that car and let her rip!! Its rare to get a private rental and not worry about roll cage ..

Im sure you would have trapped 148+

and the "nissans" are showing the porsche guys how its done at the track

No. Just the E900 and R1K. We have run the P800 GTR's last year. Can remember exactly but i think the best ET was 10.1 and the best trap speed was 141 mph.

i was not expecting to run the GT2, but had some down time so i thought i would make a few passes. i don't think C16 would have made a huge difference in ET as i could grab traction with 93 pump gas on the continental vmax tires. next chance i get, i will bring a set of drag radials and let her rip on the C16.
