Always wondered if most Porsche owners leave there back seats up or do you leave them folded down???? Any advantage of leaving seats down for music quality since I believe there are either speakers or woofers behind the seats.

Well, since I drive a Cayman S, I don't have much choice!

Always up, I don't think it makes that much of a difference

I have a cab and always have the seats down and wind screen up. This creates a nice storage area between the seat back and bottom of screen. You can be real piggy and keep a lot of stuff in those spaces and be out of sight. Also, the wind screen really does an excellent job doing what it's intended to do. Windows and screen up and no more wind than a open sun roof.

Always down. The subwoofer ports live behind the seat backs. I think the idea of removing them makes a lot of sense since no one ever rides back there. Saves a few pounds too.

Down for me. Music wise I don't think it makes a noticeable difference, but I feel it's easier to put stuff back there with them down.

Leave mine down, contemplating removing them (26lbs).

In the rear seats, six footers have to bend their heads sideways a fair amount; five foot eight and it's a small bend; and five foot six drops right in. I've found the rear seats actually usable for ten minute trips for lunch. It also helps when your rear seat passenger's only other choice is a very long walk.

I'm 6' and can move the passenger seat up to where I'm got just a touch of knee room and then sit in the rear seat where I'm also just short of too tight. The world does have a sideways look to it, however. Frankly, I was surprised that the space is even slightly usable.

The wife and I tried a Jaguar XKR a few years ago and with the seat positioned with her knees absolutely crushed sideways against the dash, it then was impossible for her (5'-9") to come close to sitting in the "rear seats". Compared to that car, the 911 is a limo.
Cheers

Down, several reasons: permits to hide a paquet under the back seat downed, avoids the little vibrations with the rear belts, and lets the subwoofer free.

I leave mine down. Having several wives it thereby makes it unfair if only one gets to ride with me. Ergo, I drive, as I drink, alone
