Magnaflow Exhaust

Magnaflow used my car to prototype their new system for the 997 Turbo. It sounds really good and the high flow cats they provided dont cause a CE light. I will try to take some pics and video.

i was one of the earlier adopters of a magnaflow exhaust for my e46 m3 back in the day. it was significantly cheaper than all its competitors, and performed / sounded the same. I paid $800 for a full cat-back, when the rest of their competitors were charging more than that just for the muffler section! I'd love to see magnaflow producing products for Porsche and start driving some of these exhaust prices down.

in that case, i should start buying these magnaflow exhausts, stamping some sort of exotic sounding italian name on them, like Silenziatore and then sell them for 5x the price!

^^^^ and to those who say it has to be exorbitantly expensive to be good are well, soon parted from their bucks. Some of the best after market stuff I've ever seen for many makes of cars has been the most competitively priced.

I'd love to look at, hear, and see a new magnaflow system ...

Magnaflow stuff is fundamentally good. They just sell lower range mainstream systems and components. Also most of there stuff is not always stainless or low production/high cost. They have decent cats for the $, stainless mandrel piping, good flowing mufflers and X/Y pipes and stuff. The one thing lacking is P-car experience.
I am curious to see what they come up with.

The muffler is not that big a deal, the trick with the Porsches is using the proper cat. A stainless magnaflow should be just fine.

Nice! Finally an affordable exhaust!!! I have used Magnaflow universal mufflers on many of my prior cars. They always worked and sounded great!

Oh, I wasn't clear.

I was saying you'd have to be crazy not to look at a magnaflow at that price. Paying five times as much for a couple of HP and arguably better sound is pretty crazy.

I dont underistand how one could speak of affordability while owning a $100+ car. Moreover, when it comes to finding a proper system for a P i thnk we should also look into much more diffrent aspects rather than $$ ( material, welds, after sale service, performance, and sound ) it's a porsche for god sakes not a taurus!
