Problems after disconnection battery?
Hi,
I had the car long time in the garage without touching it, so the battery went totally dead, I had to replace it. I have read somewhere that it is in the case of the 997TT no good idea to disconnect the battery. I can not recall what was the reason ( there was some difference to the 996). The car did show me an PSM error but after restart it was gone to normal. Do I have to take care of something?
Thanks

That answer was fast, Thanks.....
Yes, both errors are gone. I just recalled that I read something ,I think it was in Excellence, that there is a problem after disconnecting the battery on 997. I was something not obvious (I think it had to do with the ECU?!) That problem did not exist on the 996TT and had to do with engine management ( or I have just dreamed it, I can not find the article, what is not really a wonder if you think what you read a a year or two) ...

There is an issue with the ECU emissions system.
When the battery is disconnected, or you clear all errors in your ECU with Durametric or PIWIS, your O2 sensors, cat converter efficiency, secondary air system will state "not ready." If you drive immediately to a emissions testing station and OBD2 is used to scan your ECU, you will fail.
It takes about 100 miles to recalibrate.
