Dealer playing the finance didn't go through trick

So frustrating as this is the third time this has happened to me in my life (not for this purchase).

A week after I bought the car they are telling me they couldn't get the rate they told me initially and they need to double it.

I guess I look like someone who would fall for this crap. The other two cars went back. Hope this one doesn't have to go back as well.

I have a very high score so they said that they made a mistake and the rate isn't available on the 997 turbo. It would be a shame to have to go shopping again but to be fair I didn't beat them up at all on my trade or the new car but instead asked for a great rate.

Actually you did it backwards. You should always deal cash with the stealerships and do your own financing. In the long run it will save you a percent or two. It's easy to arrange financing in advance. A lot of credit unions even have free programs where they will get you a discount on the purchase, yes even P cars.

After you're pre-approved make your best deal then put the sales person in touch with your finance contact.

Porsche is offering 1.9% on CPO cars. Not sure I can beat that.

Fair point. But I expect them to hold the rate they told me I would get or discount the carrot cover the change.

What does your contract state in terms of changing your interest rate once you've signed?

I have to look through it but I doubt it gives them an unrestricted right to do so without my agreement.

Yeah, they throw the "well qualified buyers" clause in there. I had a Honda dealership try this with a lease (on a 30K car!). They trot it out late in the game to maximize your "time investment" and minimize your likelihood of shutting the deal down.

Went to another and got it without trying, just a wasted afternoon.

Would seriously have to question any dealership that does that. Can't trust them!

Looks like they are going to honor the original deal by lowering the cost of the car to cover the difference so I am happy with that solution. I bet 50% of the people they ask for more money figure it is just $50 a month on a pretty big payment and just take the hit.

if they weren't going to honor the first rate you can drive that heap (no longer a heap since you bought it) right on to their front lawn while spinning out and throw the keys at the shady used car dealer. these holes think they are smart. f them.

Why not return it then ?
I have never financed a car but a lot of forum members do ask about price opinions . I don't think you'll beat 1.9 pecent (agree with you) .

About two years ago there was this thread where several discussed about credit being denied . https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...0-leasing.html
