How many miles in year 1? 12,954 for me

My 2010 TT cab just turned 1 today. I have 12,954 miles on it. Made me wonder how many miles everybody else has put on in year 1. I still love the car as much today as the first day. Weather is getting warmer, can't wait to take the top down, and getting AWE exhaust installed in 2 weeks.

I bought it for a daily driver. I don't care about resale (not because i use c notes as wallpaper), but because I knew going into it I was going to enjoy it every day and put a lot of miles on it. So no worry on my part regarding resale - rather, my worry (probably too strong of a word) is that this thing is built well and will last many years with that type of mileage. Don't know if I'll keep it to 100k miles, but I hope I could get there without any problems if i choose to. Have others had success getting their TT's (obviously not 997.2s) up to this high mileage and beyond without material problems? How well are these built? And how many miles have you guys put on in year 1?

non TT 997.2

I also drive about 12k a year on the 4s. Without track days I assume the pcars will comfortably handle the mileage. Many Euro owners put on more mileage and expose their cars to weather without issues. No Garage Queens allowed ! It's tough to let mine sit between drives; I use a a3 dsg as well since I travel + 30k a year.

trice9: I'm curious, when you picked up your TT last March was it ordered or on the lot ? Was there any pricing adjustment, say in % of sticker ? How do you feel the value has held, relative to the actual $ spent ? I may be upgrading and starting to troll . . .

Kudos to trice9, glad you are enjoying the car. Some owners enjoy the use of their 911s as a weekend toy (gives them more sense of anticipation) and some enjoy them as DDs.

Paul, you will take a huge hit on your '09C4S, atleast when I checked recently that was the case.

Mine sees about 7500 miles a year, live in N.E. so use it only 7-8 months.
My 88 Carrera has 135K on it and still going strong, hammer it at the track!
They're all built to be driven.

a bit of a story here. i ordered it in december '09. msrp of $168k, negotiated $7k off at time of ordering. that was not easy, as it was near impossible to find a build slot at that point for those who remember. took delivery 3/24/10. about two weeks later, i heard on this board (thank you 6speed) that porsche ag had an incentive at the end of the quarter - they would match whatever dealer discount there was in the last two weeks of march. i went back to my dealer with this. they either played stupid or truly weren't aware of this. i pushed, they looked into it, and agreed that i should have been made aware of this. they did the right thing and cut my a check for $7k to match the dealer discount.

so that's the long answer to your first question. the answer to your second question is a bit tougher. i'm not sure what i could now get for a car i spent $154k on with 13k miles. but i'm sure i'd take a hit given the high mileage. but i haven't looked into it as i don't plan on selling anytime soon. but the value it's driven in terms of my enjoyment has certainly been worth it.
