Hi guys. I have a 2008 tt cab. 4 k miles. Manual. Trying to figure out if I should mod with a switzer p650 package or just wait for a 991 or 2011 turbo s.

Your thoughts please.

Thanks

Any idea on installation cost for the switzer?

What are you waiting for, DRIVE that beast! With so few miles go with a flash AND exhaust first then find every excuse to drive the crap out of her.

Definitely keep the 997.1 turbo and mod the car. I think that is one of the main reasons (at least imho) for getting a 997.1 turbo. Very easy car to mod with substantial gains in power. I would never purchase a new P-car anyhow because they lose 40-50% of their value in 4-5 years. I could see myself in a turbo S but not until 4-5 years from now. My biggest gripe with the 997.1 turbo is the turbo lag. I am hoping I can reduce this with some aftermarket goodies...

I'm in a similar situation with my current 07 997TT. I ordered a 2012 TTS Coupe with a late Nov. delivery date rather than modding my current car as the TTS has just so much of what I want. Now we hear that the 991TT will possibly be released next summer as a 2013 model. My dealer has no problem selling the TTS to someone else as its optioned almost exactly how the dealer would have ordered it anyway (and switch me into a 991TT). If we only knew more about the 991TT we could make an educated decision about what to do. If the 991TT has the 560-570 HP that the rumour mill has stated plus a KERS system and an updated handling profile, then dumping our 997.1TT will make more sense. If on the other hand the rumour mill is way off about the release date and the performance envelope of the 991TT, we will regret passing on the 997TTS. Maybe one of the players in the Porsche hierarchy who is also a 6speeder would give us some kind of guidance.

I would mod it...It will cost you a lot less to mod the car, then to buy a new one...Your car is still new for the most part...Once you start modding it, it will transform it into a whole new car!

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the P650/R680 and above packages.

Right now, for modding purposes, the 997.1TT is the 911 Turbo to own.

They would really release the 991tt next summer? That's pretty soon considering they normally wait around 2 years. Can't wait to see the new benchmark it sets.
