997.2 turbo s mesh grille inserts

I have not seen or am aware of mesh grille inserts for the Turbo/Turbo S
Do any of the members have them or recommend/not recommend their use?
I have a S on order and would like member's input on using mesh grill inserts.
Thanks for any input.

I lost two radiators over a track season BEFORE I had SS mesh installed behind grills...no problems since! Guy who works on my car fabricated and installed for next to nothing.

+1 Added them to the Cayenne last month, got mine from same source. Rhonda was great to work with. I was having issues on their site at one point, just PM'd her on 6speed. You can get it in silver or black, and its very easy to mold, and cut. I just secured them in with tiny black zip-tie wraps.

I have them on my 996 X50 and there's some HUGE dents in them from taking damage that otherwise would have dented or punctured the radiators pretty good. They restrict airflow somewhat, but I think they're worth the protection they provide.

Does anyone sell grill mesh that are bigger, like the size that Audi front grills use? I'm not a huge fan of the smaller mesh. I've been looking but haven't been able to find a suitable size.

Here are a few pics, the install is a bit of a PITA only because of the plastic black "fins". The mesh has to be molded and then once you have it set in place, its silconed and screwed down. The bumper is a really tight fit once the grills are on. Should take around 3 hrs for someone who is skilled, and once you're done the reward is worth it. Sorry no pic with the bumper on. I will take one when I get a chance so you can see it
