My first 997TT Cab - almost

Well, I finally did it! I found my girl in Southern California and just had to bring here home to Texas (well, almost...). Heres a pic of her at the dealership. Unfortunately I listened to some friends recommendation for the shipping part and didn't use a board sponsor (won't do that again any time soon...). The douc$ebags at the car shipper outfit have been moving my girl criss cross the country for the past nine days and all I get is BS as to when she might finally arrive here. All the booze and cigars in the world won't help until she's finally sitting in my driveway...

I actually flew out to LA to look at her on 6 hours notice. The dealer didn't accept a down payment to hold her for me and I was too much of a chicken to wire them $100k+ for a 'sight unseen' car...(though I already knew she was the one). Was thinking about driving her back but decided against it. The great state of Cali would have charged me sales tax if I take delivery there and since their tax rate is a bit higher than ours I figured I didn;t wan't to hassle with the tax refund process...

Oh, and the shipping....If you ever want to know which company NOT to use for shipping just ask me...there's a recent Clint Easwood film that has almost the same name...no, not million dollar baby...

Looks great... what year is the car and what are some of the goodies?

I got a black TT coupe and black does a nice job of capturing and highlighting the curves (when the car is clean).

Thanks for the kind words, she is a 2009 model. As far as options go it's pretty much the usual..Sports Chrono, Tiptronic (wife insisted), heated and ventilated seats, bluetooth, metal door sills, park assist, side skirts painted in car color, Porsche crest in headrest, and a few more minor ones...
I had the dealer put on a full clear bra on her and they threw in a free Cilajet paint sealant treatment. Since it was free I didn't ask many questions about the Cilajet, but has anybody had any experience with the stuff? Sure looks good when new but is all the advertised stuff really true?

Man, I'm getting excited again just thinking about the car...need to go smoke another cigar on the back porch and drink a Gin Tonic to calm the nerves

Congrats... looks like you got it at a great price too. Post some more pics when she finally arrives in Dallas. BTW, I grew up in the Dallas area (Lewisville). Live in Cincinnati now.

Which side of Lewisville? Have you been there lately? Like a tale of two cities...on side of town pretty, the other one ugly and dirty...

Wow, a brethren, I got my 997tt 08 Cab last week from LA and I'm getting the clear side markers from Suncoast LOL. I think I saw your tip listed, but I went for a 6speed. Trained my wife on my S2000 . Welcome to the club and congratulations, the wait is worth it. You'll be smilling for months.

PS: I was luckier on transport, my autobroker arranged a private truck, got it next business day.

Had a question from Nthusiast about price but can't reply via PM because of low post count. I paid $109k for her...A tad high maybe since she has 24k miles on her but I figured the pristine shape she's In and that she is CPOed through October 2015 makes up for it.
Hope this helps you out Nthusiast, good hunting!

i grew up on the side west of I35 - not sure if that is pretty side or the ugly side since it was pretty much all the same back in the 80's. I left in 1988 for college. I have visited in over 4 years.

Congrats on the purchase, very nice! Sucks to hear about the transportation issue. These are great cars and I'm sure you'll enjoy that drop top once this record heat ends...
