2010 vs 2011?

Hello All!

I have a 996tt and love it but mostly use it for track duty as it has a roll bar bucket seats etc...

Thinking about trading my 08 Cayeene tt which I love for a 2010 pdk turbo as a daily. This would allow my wife to drive it in auto mode if I ever had to take her suv for work or personal.

It's very doubtful that I would sell the 996tt based on all I have done to it and where the prices are these days, just seems like a great track car that at todays mid 40's to upper 50's I would not die if I ever wrecked it.

Unless, I track the pdk 10 and decide that I want to keep if for dd and track duty?

Main question is what is the difference in motors, tranny and overall cars. I am looking at some with pccb, adapt seats, cpo, pdk in the 120's-130's with 6k miles on avg. I like the Turbo S but not sure it would make sense unless there is a huge difference between the cars.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The S is basically the same as the non S but with a lot of preloaded options. The motor, tranny, and pretty much everything else is the same. The factory tune is different giving the S 30 more hp and a lot more drivability but you can always get that same program from Evoms for a lot less then you would pay for an S.

Thanks for the feedback! Some ads for 2010's say 3.6l and then in 2011 for same a non S car it goes to 3.8L. Some sites like NADA state the 10 tt to have 3.6L. I am guessing from 2010 on it is the same eng especially when with pdk?

The 3.6 is probably a typo or someone who doesn't know. I am pretty sure all 2010s and 11s are 3.8.

I'm pretty sure 10' turbo are 3.8 regardless of "S" or non-"S".

I hear what you mean by 08 but I already have the 996tt which still has plenty of room for pwr adders but if I went with an 08 I would have to go with tippy so my wife can drive it and I would prefer the pdk.

P800 997TT Tip with our upgraded tiptronic (and TCU programming) so it shifts almost as fast as a PDK when in Sport mode. The P800 uses our modified A28 turbochargers for "VTG-esque" spool with incredible top end power, without the common heat-soak power loss common with heavily modded VTG's pushed to the limit.

Bhud43 is infamous around these parts
Coming from an S owner, it's only worth getting if you don't plan on doing any performance upgrades. I learned the hard way that when you do upgrade an S, it is the same as applying the same upgrades to the baseline turbo. Best of luck with your decision!

This is exactly what I did on my 2011... got all the options that I wanted that the S had sans the PCCB's and went with EvomsIT. Now its faster than a stock S.
