Talking Newbie with my first P-car

Hey guys!

Had Been on the fence for one of these bad boys and finally pulled the trigger Coming from a very fast AMG breed, I thought this car has what it takes to replace my previous ride. Any helpful inputs would be greatly appreciated. Not looking to modify just yet but when and IF i do will make sure i do it right

Its a 2007 Blue with 50k on the clock which i thought was a bit high for this car but fits my budget and looked to be very well cared for. I dont plan on DD this car at all but I do need to find me a Good warranty so any suggestions would be great.

Will have some Pics as soon as weather clears..

Welcome, I also came from a long line of AMG and M cars. I remember my first few weeks driving the Porsche is that I need to become a better driver. Took a few Proshe drive classes, they were very helpful and fun. To me the Porsche demands a better/skill driver input to get the most out of them.

Enjoy in good health

Cobalt is a great color. I would recommend easy care warranty. U can get this at most Porsche dealerships, but shop around and negotiate

Congrats, and welcome to the club. A 997 Turbo is a great way to start your Porsche relationship!

I would look for Easycare as well.

Dealers in general sell them. I haven't bought one for a Porsche but my father did once and they were stellar. I had them on another car for a time and was pleased with the experience.

Many on this board will tell you the cars are bulletproof and there is no need for a warranty but I am on my third Turbo and I can attest that all three of them have spent a fair amount of time in the shop. I had a 996 Turbo that needed the transmission replaced ($11k), a 997 Turbo that went in for an electric glitch five times before it was solved, and a 997 Turbo that I just picked up that is already in for the accumulator.

I think most people are referring only to the engine as 'bulletproof'. As well demonstrated by your past experience, the rest of the car is what you need to worry about.

Fair point. I still love them and once I have gotten the issues worked out of them they are stellar to drive. I buy used so I usually find out why someone else traded it in. ;-)
