997 Steel Turbo rotors - differences
997 Steel Turbo rotors - differences
Hi all,
Does anybody know the technical differences between the up to 08 rotors such as part number 997 351 405 00 and the 09 on 997 351 405 01? I presume they are not interchangable?
Thanks

Porsche supersedes the 00 to the 01. We have these rotors in stock ready to ship.
Let me know if you need a set.

Slight rotor rust after washing wheels does not make your wheels dirty.
It goes away pretty much the first time your rotors rotate with the pads applied to them (e.g. the first time you press the brake while the car is moving).
What does make your wheels dirty is brake dust and general dirt from the road.
Do what I did, get your wheels powder coated matte/satin black (not pictured in my avatar). Problem solved

When it comes to rotors I only know of ceramic or steel. What you can do is try to get pads that produce lest dust. I don't know of any but I'm sure some people may have some suggestions.

There is no connection between slight rust on your rotors after they get wet and clean/dirty wheels.

No, it is the thin layer of rust that immediately coats my wheels. It's even worse if there is a little pocket of water still hiding in the wheels. Rust+water = dirty wheels again. It is a very different color than the normal layer or brake pad dust that I'm used to. Right now, I just carry a towel with me after washing the car and go drive around the block a couple times to scrape off the rust and reclean.
