Adding a clutch and tune

I'm going to be installing a new clutch and having a tune done and I'm wondering since a lot of time will be spent on the clutch is there anything else maintenance or performance wise I should do at this time. My car is a 2009 TT with 21,000km. I am having my own Dodge tech(I own a Dodge store) do the clutch. Is there anything else that can or should be done or checked on at this time keeping in mind the tech is not familiar with P cars but is eager to learn.
Thanks all

I am still learning, but I believe people change/upgrade there plugs also when doing a tune. Depending on mileage.

We all know that a modified 997 Turbo has a shorter plug life than stock one; however a modified car has a more efficient combustion cycle. Porsche states that the Spark plugs should be replaced every 40,000 km, however a more realistic time period should be between 20,000 and 30,000km. This is especially true when driving more aggresively on a continued basis.

I found this article with google.

This is something I intend to research more thoroughly when I am ready to select a ecu tune.

Probably worth looking into

I've researched this a little on these forums. I should get my car back this week with a tune and new exhaust. I ended up not doing the clutch right now as the factory clutch should be sufficient. I am having my spark plugs changed (14,000 miles on them) though as it seems common to have plug problems after a tune. Also, they will be part of the way there with the exhaust already off.

If I were you, I would change the plugs and check the spacing of the crankshaft position sensor while you are in there. Apparently the crankshaft position sensor spacing is a problem on these cars. Common symptoms are erratic hard starts and/or RPM spikes on start-up.

Easy flash via OBDII cable and no down time. Huge HP gain. Instead of the Sachs, go with the Clutch Masters Stage 3. Far better clutch and driveability for the money.

I already purchased the Sachs 2.5 set up. My car does have the erratic revs at startup but is very sporadic and I figured if it became a problem the car is still under warranty. Plugs seem like a Good idea does anyone recommend replacing the brv in a 2009 car. Looks like softronic is the tune of choice for many.

Hmmm, this has me thinking. I recently had the EVT700 package put on along with a new Sach 2.5 clutch. Since then, my car is very jumpy for a few miles after a cold start. Once temps are in operating range the car runs just fine. I was having startup issues as well after the EVT700. I had the clutch changed out and that took car of the hard starts. Maybe it's my crankshaft position sensor that's still plaguing me??

Here's the thread about the crankshaft position sensor:
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...cure-here.html

My stock 997TT went through a period of what I might call "very jumpy" and the problem was more pronounced when the car was cold. It finally set a check engine light and I took it to the dealer. The service manager told me they changed out the MAF sensors and the paperwork said they removed and cleaned the MAF sensors. I'm not sure which they actually did, but it solved the problem.

100% agree!
Awe Tuning have what they call a Stage 2.5 clutch kit. I'm running that at the moment and its perfect, factory type feel with all the grip you need up to 700hp

Thanks for the link. Doesn't describe what mine is doing actually. Now, the MAF sensors may be something more in line with my issues. Aren't they more important during "Open loop" mode when you first start the car?
