Intercoolers...
TTdude, my nozzles are in the IC outlets. Agree that there may be a flash cooling effect if droplets sit on the IAT sensor. I'll see a quick IAT drop at the initial hit, then IATs increase but at a lower slope so it appears the sensor is still doing it job (i.e it doesn't just sit still at some low IAT).
The 4 plural s at the end signifies the minimum number of engine dynos required to make a Schmirler tuned car runs correctly.

There is a RR Tuning GT2 limping around Europe somewhere and when I asked why it runs so poorly, the explanation was that Reinhold Schmirler needs to "fine tune$$$$
" it personally for it to work properly!

Is spraying methanol on the exterior of the IC not a popular method for TTs? We used to do it on Fords, and STis came with it that way. It might not be as effective but there's no risk of getting a skewed reading from the IAT.
IMO methanol is a bit of an unreliable crutch. It's a strained risk for not a lot of gain. I live at 5500 ft elevation though, so I guess you coastal folks might be forced to get creative with manipulating air temps.

Thxs guys for answers,
I understand water/meth injection is the must, if I can't find better parts than mine it would be the next step, going to speak my wife about holidays in Turquey! (Arkansas is truly too far by car, even in a fast 997TT!

I think meth injection is your best option. You'll get lower IATs plus higher octane. Otherwise, change your turbos.

Hello Pascal,
You are more then welcome here.
We have very nice restaurants, shops and the Bosphorus... too much too see here, i'm sure your wife will love it too.
Regarding the intercoolers, we have tested every brand here, the best solution is water/meth injection.
It will cool down intake temp and it will boost your octane level.
We have installed more than 18 kits here, most of them were Porsche's.
Its really the way to go.
There is also one more trick that you can do.
We have produced bigger air ducts for the intercoolers.
They are like the GT2RS but wider to get more air. You can see them in the pictures below.

Some things are moving guys
The Saudi Arabia Protomotive dealer offers me to do the logs I need on his cars! Great!
But perhap's I will log myself other AM Ics too, some great brand seems ok to send one set!
It is possible there is no IC able to hold tuned metzger IATs on long pulls, perhap's because of the implantation in the car more than the quality of the Ics.
I think I will know it...
Emre: thxs for the pics, I think it is a little step more to cooling, but not enough I'm afraid.
How many hours does it need to bolt an Aquamist on a 997TT? That would be my last step if the best Ics available (at correct price) on the market aren't efficient enough...

(AFR, ignition timing etc..)
There isn't any actual drawback that i have seen yet,
but proper installation and setting the system is very important.
What octane do you normally use?
What are your intake temps @WOT?
Which y-pipe do you use?
It's not a must, but you should re-tune your car to get the maximum gain.

100-200 in 5sec, 100-300 16.8 with passenger. All ecu safeties are on. Pump fuel 100 oct but really bad quality in Greece these days..
Have you tested those inlets you posted above Emre? Do they make a measurable difference?
Hi P. and all
My little contribution on the subject about the quality of the Aquamist products: don't forget that they started their business designing and building WMI kits for WRC rally teams (Ford at the begining if my memory serves me right), so I think they're really good and now experienced at what they're doing and selling.
P. If you happen to come up here north, I'll be pleased to show you mine.
