battery

I've had my 2007 turbo for 1 year (CPO) and recently noticed that the crank time was taking a bit longer. In addition, I noticed that after closing the door, the window wasn't going up the last few mm. I figured it was probably time for a new battery, so I called the dealer. They wanted ~$200 for the battery, plus another $150 for install and to check the electronics. So, the total was going to be about $400. I decided to call Sears, and a Diehard Gold installed was going to cost 200. No brainer. The guys did a great job and even made sure to hook up the temporary charger. I learned a lot from these forums and just wanted to share my $ saving experience.

The Sears Gold's are great but they used to just die, no warning or gentle loss but a total death! Hopefully they have addressed it. Had one that did that to me. Since then I have been partial to Optima batteries.

I had an Autozone battery installed for $140. More cranking amps than the original battery and a 3 year total, 8 year pro-rated warranty. It took about 30 minutes start to finish.
