Check Engine light on because of fab speed cats
Check Engine light on because of fab speed cats
Hey i bought my turbo about 4 months ago and its always had the check engine light on and the small red exclamation mark on as well, i took it into the shop a few times and they cant get it to turn off, if you reset the comp and what not it will go away for a few days but it will turn back on. THen randomly it will go away again but always return eventually.
I have the fab speed high flow cats and there cat back exhaust on the car that i bought it with so im guessing that can be the only reason for it, any solution to solve this as i might be sellin the car soon and i cant sell it if the check engine light and other light is always on lol either that or i go back to fully stock set up which would be annoying

Aftermarket exhausts and cats can cause havoc on Turbo. . . naturally aspirated P cars do fine but Turbo's it throws sensors off normally. . . . get used to lighting up your dashboard like Christmas!
easily fixed with a flash. You can also try o2 eliminators from bid daddy (google it), you need those mini cat style, not simply extensions as they dont work 100%.

yep. With those 02 spacers (make sure you install them on the sensors after the cat) there will be no more check engine light. No re-flash required. You need the sensors BEFORE the cats to be in stock position or your car won't run right.
That said, a working aftermarket cat should not throw a check engine light...

Sorry. I was referring to stage 2 flashing the ECU. The CEL for the triggered post cat sensor could be eliminated. Sounds like things are getting corrected - good luck.
Hey Izwar, it shouldn't have a CE light as long as it has our new HJS sport Cats. Shoot me a PM with your information or give me a call and we can go over it. We have replacement HJS sport cats for it, so you wont need to use an extenders if the sport cats are good.
thanks guys,
