Drove a GT3 Yesterday...

I loved the turn-in and very precise steering. I know there are threads that address suspension mods on the turbo, but seriously, can a modded TT get close to the precision steering of the GT3? I'm considering trading the TT in for a GT3. Thoughts??

Could be possible if you remove the front driveline and remove all of the rubber bushings, replace the shocks with Motons or KW's and other misc suspension components, you should check out what GMG, BBi, RSS, TPC and SharkWerks have to offer. I'm sure the car would feel a little numb compared to the GT3 considering the weight difference.

The Turbo will always have the disadvantage of weight (even if you remove the front drive train). With the modifications that bmwtk mentions you can come fairly close. Part of the sharp turn in is due to a bit of toe out on the GT3 (I believe .3 degrees).

However, the Turbo can be modded for power/torque well beyond the GT3. Having owned both, I would say if you are truly into handling and track time (corner speed) go for the GT3. If you want torque, go for the Turbo.

Makes sense, so where does the GT2 lie in the handling range? Closer to the GT3 or Turbo?

GT3.

To the OP: I did the GMG WC springs and sways, Tarett end links, and the GT3 LCAs ith a track alignment and the car is like a friggen razor blade in the corners!

Very much like a GT3, however, you can get yourself in whole lot of trouble due to the power, unless you manage the boost and your right foot.

There is practically no substitute for the smooth delivery of NA cars.

+1 agree,
Even if you get the suspension and handling to feel the same as the GT models you will never get the instant throttle response from a turbo as you do with the 3. For me, the throttle feel = a much higher level of control and connection to the car. My GT2 is set up with a much better suspension than a 3RS, but will still not have the ability to drive to the limit on the track as a 3RS because of the suprising boost in mid corner. However, it will still get the same or better lap time because of the straight line speed.

Excellent insights. Thanks guys. I think I'm going to keep the TT and mod with some of the suspension suggestions mentioned. It seems like it'll be "close" enough which is fine by me. Agreed, certain things can't be changed like weight and FI. But stock form is absolutely lousy.
