How do you access rear shocks from inside the car?

How do you access rear shocks from inside the car?
I have a '07 997 Turbo and tomorow we will be installing springs on my car.
I wanted to know how to access rear shocks from inside the car, I have removed the Bose system but I have no clue how to access the shocks.

Do you have to lift the carpet or something?

Also check out the DIY on ECU removal, that shows how to get the carpet up.
