Hey Fellas, Id like to ask who is running methanol injection in their P-cars. I am trying to push the car a little more, was thinking of installing an Aquamist system along with larger injectors,and a maf-less new tune. Im running a pair of 65mm turbos for a while now and the car has always felt a little freakish on the good gas(100 Octane map), eventually going through the tiptronic transmission as well as separating the head gaskets and spinning the Camshaft after 30k miles of abuse. A couple months ago EVOMS sent my local tech their components for their 850 kit consisting of strengthening the 3.6 with new main bearings, rods, camshafts, head studs and obvious gaskets.... I love the quick spooling VTGs for the type of driving I do; but want to push a little more hp. Is meth my answer? Im thinking of having the car dyno tuned by tony @epl. Would it be possible to have the car tuned on 93pump gas, 93/ meth, 100 octane, 100 /meth? with 4 separate tunes? Is an electronic boost controller needed?

Any meth addicts care to chime in?

 

its great to think about meth injection , miluo is running meth on upgraded vtgs and his car running well ,, if you want a little more , yes meth is the answer !! its mean more boost , more timing !!

 

I would slap on some TiAl A30s. You'll get more hp at lower boost.

 

I snagged a used pair of tial alpha 30s from a fellow member a couple months back; I have been hesitant to put them on as they just collect dust in my garage.. Still dont know which way I want to go with this

Blow the dust off and stick them on. You'll figure it out after that. Have you run the race file on ms109? I assume meth would be similar?

 

Hello yousef , well its hard to install it and tune it ! I installed 3 kits till now for porsches , one for me , 2 for other porsches am working on them !! Reema install the tank and the pump then i do the rest and the tunning !

Meth will give you significant hp and trq increase over 93 octane pump gas.

however it FULLY depends on your tune.

Also, you cannot use an electronic boost controller with VTG turbos.

Are the % gains lower or higher when using 1 of the following 93/mix/C16 and what might those gains be? Secondly, will methanol cause any short, med, long term damage??

The only negative I can see is the tank.

I know it will reduce detonation under certain circumstances.

I was also interested in Meth my Tuner told me that's how he blew his engine. He also said he wouldn't install it, so wen't to another guy who's also a car guru and also didn't reccomend it. I sruck out twice good luck.

 

What tuner? For shure he did not know what he was doing.

 

salerno.....there's a customer of ours up in the NY/CT area running our 68mm VTG's, and added meth to the kit. Talk to Tony @ EPL...he knows the car. It belongs to arone997tt, but I'm not sure he posts on here too much anymore.

Basically, he uses the meth when in both the pump and race fuel modes of the GIAC programs. He's not specifically programmed for it, but it helps for sure. If you did a custom tune for it, I'd bet the benefits would be even better.

 

I run straight methanol for 3 years now on VTGs there are a few topics on the forum. EPL is a good option
